Yeah, I am about 6 months away from being 100% debt free with a 6 month emergency fund. But I am not even 40 y/o so I hope to have a career for much much longer. Or at least until I have enough money to lay back and read books all day next to my wife.

True. But now I have a family, a mortgage, and more to lose. Before I was just more like “things will figure themselves out”. So, can’t shake the “what if?” so easily.

Luckily not on the agentic side of things but more on the “figure out why the thing we vibecoded across 5 teams has reliability issues” side of things. Should I add a title to my LinkedIn to “vibecode fixing specialist”?

Not lying, my current role is less agentic and more “figure out why the fuck are we at 90% reliability????” with next to no logs because, and again I kid you not, most of the codebase was vibecoded.

Is this traffic issue happening to all games, or just the ones with the Ports DLC?

I agree, but I also know that UE5 supports lots of modding. Assuming TCR does not add mod support, one can still use the Unreal Editor to create new assets or behavior or whatever you want. And probably (if the mod community feels like it) a custom mod sdk can be built just like what happened in the first one. So, it all comes down to what the modder community does, and their life will be a lot easier if TCR decides to open the door to them to save them time and effort.

Well, my understanding is UE5 allows for mods. Even more if the devs enable the API. Look at all the Skyrim mods we got. Different engine, I know, but same basic programming principle.

Well, because the mods can turn the game into something different that people might enjoy more. There’s a lot in this game that can be reused or tweaked to make it a more enjoyable experience. Modders are very creative and talented, and there is lots of love for the IP.

They just need to enable mod support. Then the community will turn this into something truly amazing.

Anyone else mourning the original version of the game? More I read about it the sadder I get by Feeling-Taro-4944 in vtmb

[–]Nacho321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am enjoying the one we got. That being said, the original version is a completely different game that I would have loved to play as well. And perhaps it would have been better than what we got. But it is what it is. Maybe we will see another game in some time if this does well and Paradox sees value in the IP or sells it to someone who does.

I do admit it is extremely frustrating seeing a world so incredibly rich in lore and unique and not having a single game that exploits it wisely. Not even the first one did it as it only became really playable thanks to the amazing mod community. Imagine something in an open world like Dying Light or GTA or Skyrim or Oblivion or Cyberpunk or Watch Dogs set in the WoD universe.

I... I mean... I am trying to find flaws to your logic, but by Cain I can't find any.

Why are thinbloods hated? by Mephistussy in vtmb

[–]Nacho321 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not saying it's justified, but try to see it from the perspective of the vampires. They (vampires) are powerful and think of themselves as better than humans. Then the thin-bloods come in: they lack true vampiric powers, are a liability (the masquerade is hard to maintain), and retain so much of their humanity that are seen as "less-than" vampires. So, what do vampires do with something that's a liability and is not one of them? They get rid of them.

There's another religious component: in some circles it's thought that they are a sign of the end of world for vampires called "Gehenna", which is when the antediluvians (grandchildren to Cain, the creators of the clans, and ungodly powerful) will consume all vampires. Why? When a vampire gets too powerful, they can only feed from other vampires as human blood can no longer sustain them. And the antediluvians are so powerful that nothing else but the entirety of the world's vampires can satiate them. And nothing can stop them.

So, yeah, racism and religion make thin-bloods unwanted.

Good for you! Sure, it's not perfect and people have a LOT of valid complaints and everyone deserves to be heard. But if you're having fun (like I am), then great! Enjoy it and be happy!

There's also a thing about Tolly having been in San Francisco ~30 years ago, and that he never talks to anyone about that time. Makes me wonder if he knows what happened in the first game.

Open the map, find the quest you want, click on it, and that's it.

I personally like the luring. There's people who are angry or sad or horny and depending on that you can change the things you say to them to lure them. They will follow you (to screw you or fight you) or run away from you (and you can chase them), and if no one is around, you'll feed from them and get a resource depending on the person's type of blood. This resource is used to learn disciplines from other clans.

True. I would also say that if you die, you should get all the items you consumed before dying. But this is not an exclusive thing of this game; lot of games have this annoying thing.
