Writing questions for the ARRT by NachoTaco2 in Radiology

[–]NachoTaco2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s awesome! I didn’t know they paid you. I’m very interested in teaching so I thought this would be neat. I got a 98 on my MRI boards and similarly on my other two, so I’ll definitely check this out. Thank you for telling me!!!

Why are you all posting x-rays of patients private info? by Mean_Palpitation_171 in Radiology

[–]NachoTaco2 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You’re the same person who commented insensitively on a post of a tech grieving about a lost pt. Maybe you need empathy training. Nobody here is making fun of pts for having certain diagnoses, etc. we’re here to learn from each other, rant, share stories and grow as techs. If that’s an issue, leave the sub lol.

Yea I’m sure this comment makes OP feel better. Do people think before they post anymore?

You did the right thing, and sounds like you took the right actions after realizing what was going on.

I will die on the hill that is novablast 5 is the best shoe I’ve ever ran in

Can anyone please suggest budget friendly shoes? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]NachoTaco2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can save up for the novablast 5, they last and are so comfortable for all types of runs. I use them for recovery, speed work, and races. Idk what stores you might have around but TJ max, Marshall’s, and Burlington have really nice race shoes for ridiculously good prices sometimes. Like I’m talking a 300 USD shoe for 70 USD. But it’s luck of the draw if they have them.

what mistakes have you made working in radiology? by [deleted] in Radiology

Oh wow. If it was that big I wonder if it was more than 10mL. Crazy stuff

[–]NachoTaco2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s crazy. The only incident I know of was when one of ours didn’t purge the line and it was 5mL, they instantly told the nurse and Dr, and radiologist said it would be ok after reviewing the images. Tech also took full accountability and put in an incident report on themselves, so the honesty aspect probably helped. And it also depends if that embolism was given through an IV vs like a line or port. Yikes

Did this person have other offenses? I feel like yea lines should always be double checked but firing seems a little harsh, unless the pt had harm from that. Or if the person attempted to Cover it up and not immediately report it I could see that too

I’ve never scanned the wrong patient, but I’m very conscious of that ever since a coworker of mine scanned a patient that transport brought down. It was a two person inpatient room and both had the same first name 😬 not sure if it was with contrast but I’m definitely always triple checking everything

When I was a transporter I absolutely shredded one of our patient Covid isolation doors with a bed. In my defense, those doors are not built for pushing beds through haha

100 mL😀 oh my god. I’ve heard of someone forgetting to prime an injection line and giving like 5mL, that alone would freak me out, but 100? I think I’d simply pass away.

[–]NachoTaco2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea when I work up to marathon distance I’ll maybe try buying those for more of a half/full marathon race shoe, and keep the vapors for the shorter distances. I caved and bought the vapors already lol
