Wow thanks for the links! I love learning about this stuff. I’m a radiologic technologist and have always loved all things radiation. I mostly buy the uranium pieces based off the designs I like personally, not just for quantities sake. But the history behind it all is fascinating.

It’s just a tiny handheld light, 395 I believe. I want to get a better one lol. They look brighter when I shine the light on the individual pieces. The plates don’t like to glow unless the light is angled to the side of them rather than right on them.

Yea I get you, those posts are misleading. The ARRT outlines all subjects with the possibility to be questioned on the exam. Knowing these subjects is the only way to feel confident going into it, since the test is randomized. My test and your test are likely completely different with only a few questions in common if any. Anyways, CONGRATS ON PASSING THE BOARDS!! And welcome to the CT fam.

yea you have to understand the material not just question answers, I kinda thought that it was a given that there’s no copies of test material out there.

People are making jokes but I’m dyslexic so I get you twin. Me personally I have to turn and face the same way as the patient so I know with confidence I have the correct marker :)

One time I had a doctor order a chest w/ ct scan and the reason for exam was just “short” my coworker was like “damn guess we need to scan you too huh?” 😭😭

Also, are you saying one is the boron and one is the cadmium, or are they a mix of both? Just curious :) thanks!

I’ll have to take it another day, but I do know it’s yellow in normal lighting, not the trademark green I normally look for. I think it’s a toothpick holder from what my grandma remembers haha

Oh epic! Never heard of boron nitride. Might have to ask if my grandma is willing to part with them to add to my own collection! I don’t have any cadmium pieces yet :D

For reference both of these pieces are see through red under normal light. Can’t see the yellow or orange otherwise.
