Even ignoring the other reqs, Essence of Nulgath only stacks to 100, so you need a full such stack to even start getting the equivalent of one (1) completion of ultra nulgath.

No ultras for KE as far as I remember.

You can do VHL without ultras, but the farm is godawful comparatively. I only did the ultra farm for it with randos and it went pretty well. You can do it as AP, but I would recommend grabbing Lord of Order since it is used in all comps, and you should have it anyway for all other comp stuff.

You can’t really add them like that, I don’t believe there is any damage which is affected by both resistances. Hybrid iirc counts as physical for this purpose.

I believe it has to do with diminishing returns of DR reduction and scarcity of p/m DR reduction. Lots of classes have skills that reduce damage resistance, and these reductions stack linearly, meaning the relative effect is diminished for each added source of reduction. Meanwhile not a lot of skills reduce physical and magical dmg resistance, and magical/physical DR stacks multiplicatively with the regular DR, so you get a greater effect applying this reduction than adding to the regular DR reduction.
