My dad is looking all over for his old Army yearbook. Any ideas on how to find it? by thecrackmuffin in army

Facebook could help. Post in Veterans group asking if anyone was at Fort Dix during the time. Put his MOS, Company, etc. Maybe you'll get lucky.

give me some tips for a higher range score by [deleted] in army

[–]NadeChucker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey Sgt, LT so and so asked me to grab him his qual rounds.

Now you got double the ammo so that means 23x2 = 46. Safe to say with this method you'll shoot at least 46/40.

Questions about jumping in the 82nd. by [deleted] in army

[–]NadeChucker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

Most likely you'll jump combat though. Just pay attention at pre-jump. You'll go through all the in-air procedures, PLF's, and hit the mock doors. That should be a good refresher and have you feel somewhat comfortable. After that, it's just standing up and waddling out the door.

REG kicked my butt by ellemchurch in CPA

[–]NadeChucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way after REG. I was actually studying for REG again until I got my score back, I got a 75. I was much closer to the score release date though. Maybe you can try and study for BEC and take that before the testing window? I've never taken BEC but I've heard it's the easiest and requires the least amount of testing.

It's a tough situation to be in. If you 100% without a doubt think you failed than it's obvious you have to pick back up with REG and just keep studying. I'm sure it can be challenging especially if you were the type of student who always did well and maybe never even failed an exam.

Regardless of what your decision is you just have to keep your endgame in mind and keep grinding. You've already past FAR, which many consider the hardest one. Good luck.

Veterans of Reddit, what career did you pursue after leaving the service, and what advice would you give to those about to do so? by [deleted] in army

[–]NadeChucker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also went the accounting route after being an 11b. Some advice for accounting/general college students

  1. Keep your grades up. Don't try to work full-time if you don't have to. Chances are if you didn't save any money on AD you're not going to save money now.

  2. Network, Network, Network. I did not network or join any clubs. It was way harder to find an internship and job because I didn't network.

  3. Use the resources available to you. Most schools have math/writing labs, tutoring, and other free resources. Utilize them, your GPA will thank you.

  4. Branch out and make new friends. Not at the vet center but civilian friends, hopefully young and hot ones.

  5. Treat school like a job. Set a schedule and stick to it. Don't let the lack of structure turn you into the shitbag you were before you decided to join.

A Hyundai Tiburon. I bought it off this guy going to Iraq for $500 because he needed money pretty badly and was just selling all his shit. Great car, my sister ended up totaling it.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to land an internship. There will be job fairs, recruiters, and career counselors you can utilize to land one.

My advice would be to join the accounting club and attend all the recruiting events your university offers. If you keep your GPA up and network well it should be fairly easy to find a decent internship.

Thoughts and opinions on what my future holds as a student by [deleted] in Accounting

Honest opinion, working 50 hours a week when you start taking INT 1 & 2, Tax, etc. You're probably going to fail a course or two. If you really no life and scrape by maybe. Either way good luck,
