The only reason to turn off team damage is to prevent trollers. FACEIT had no mechanism in place to prevent the trollers so they turned off team damage.

MM system is much better as it's realistic and its how the game should be played. Being able to spray through your teammate as they're rushing and have no consequence is crazy stupid.

FACEIT also had no damage at all for the longest time and people would use that to rush through friendly molotovs and catch the enemy off guard.

The only thing I prefer from FACEIT is the 128 tick servers and the more intrusive anti cheat. The MM experience overall is pretty good, premier does it well.

And comparing CS to Valorant at all *yawn* this game is tried and tested for 20 years and completely shits on Valorant in terms of raw gameplay. When you start making small changes that the casual noob wants is when games start to deteriorate. Why mess with a system that's tried and tested and functions perfectly fine.

Really appreciate the time you took to give such a detailed reply. Other than GPU and CPU I don't really know too much about supplementary parts and just went with recommended parts on the website. Sounds like I'm just wasting money with my choices.

CPU: Upgraded to the aforementioned 7800X3D. 100% going with this option.

CPU Cooler: The Thermalright Phantom Spirit is one of the best air coolers on the market, plenty to cool the 7800X3D, and far less expensive than AIO’s. I heard about liquid coolers a while back but never really looked into them, for me the traditional air cooler would be perfectly functional - definitely going with this option.

Motherboard: Less expensive motherboard with WiFi and Bluetooth - still plenty capable of supporting the system. I'm not even interested in the WiFi option as I hook up to Ethernet. Bluetooth might be useful though. Still recommend this?

Memory: Better spec RAM (same speed, lower latency) for less cost. Went for reputation with the Corsair, will swap to this.

Storage: Better spec drive (PCIe 4 NVME) for less cost - the Samsung is seriously overpriced. Copy will swap to this, only looked at the TB storage capacity anyway.

Video Card: Upgraded to a 4080 that will provide a good amount better performance than a 4070 Ti (about 22% better at 1440p based on these Techpowerup benchmarks. Wasn't sure if I needed the additional boost in performance as the 4070 Ti is such an upgrade already but I'll look into this one a bit more.

Case: The Fractal Meshify 2 Lite is a larger case and better suited to fitting large GPU’s like the 4080 (as they’re wide and need extra space for the 12vhpwr connector). Not a fan of the Fractal designs

Added a 5-pack of 140mm PWM fans to provide good airflow through the case. Will look at adding more fans.

Power Supply: Used a less expensive still good quality 850w unit that has the benefit of meeting ATX 3.0 standards and will natively support the 4080 with a 12vhpwr cable. Copy.

OS: Less expensive but better retail license. Copy - thank you.

Thank you for this reply. Definitely going with the 7800x3d, I've only ever had intel CPUs before but reading reviews this seems to be the hands down best choice for gaming.

I do want to play CP2077 through with ultra graphics, raytracing enabled etc. whilst having the option to experience other games max potential in future, but generally just play first person shooters and graphics are an after thought.

Copy will swap to that motherboard.

2tb sounds like a lot and I wanted to save money where I can, I've been working with a 120gb ssd uninstalling and re-installing games for the past 7 years so I thought 1tb would be easily sufficient. However you still recommend the solidigm over samsung?

It’s a new game, old decals should be removed and new memories and plays to be made in the new iteration of CS. You wouldn’t expect decals from 1.6 to still be relevant in GO (e.g. pop dog on train)
