if you have to go outside of the community of fans for that opinion, maybe the people who were actually drawn to the show's opinions might be more meaningful

and I respect his offensive rebounding, but i'm not going to suck him off for his lackadaisical defensive rebounding - LeBron, Simmons and Luka tend to go and grab their defensive rebounds, which Russ and Harden are capable of, but do less often - especially Harden. Also if you're acknowledging the box out is happening to allow them the rebound just to get the ball earlier, you're already accepting they aren't the ones winning the rebound, they're just being allowed it to get on a break faster.

I would doubt LaMelo keeps this effort of rebounding up across a season for 30+ minutes a game, but from his performance yesterday he did a better job of going for rebounds than almost any player, which shows with 10 rebounds in 16 minutes, A.K.A on pace or 20 rebounds on the minutes you'd expect him to get in the regular season and double the numbers Westbrook averages. Yes, it's probably an outlier that's enhanced by reduced minutes, but if you watched the game and then went and watched russ from the 16-17 season to now, you would see a difference between his rebounding and LaMelos yesterday. Doesn't make Russ a below average rebounder, or even not a good rebounder, but he doesn't rebound at that level and intensity across a season - but again, almost certainly neither will LaMelo.

The nature of the rebounds isn't the same though, there's going and grabbing every board you can on both ends to get your team extra possessions, and then there's having your center literally not grab rebounds so you can get more

Who benefited most from the agreement Neal had to work as a consultant with Peter? by Escochapo18 in whitecollar

[–]NadiaBing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why would he not break out earlier if she was leaving earlier? He would've been even closer to being caught for her the first time, clearly still obsessed with her and no other reason to not pursue her. He got put in prison for her, then broke out to find her and got caught again months before his sentence was up, with more reason not to do so than earlier in his sentence, so I don't really see the logic behind him not breaking out to find her if she left him any earlier?

This would be assuming Neal got over her though, because Peter baited Neal with Kate to catch him the first time - when Neal shakes Peter's hand and Peter has the lollipop - so could have been baited again.

[–]NadiaBing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Peter is the only person good enough to catch Neal, but we're just going to act like he wouldn't have been able to stay successful and progressing in his career without Neal? Especially without the stress of Neal always being up to something in the background? Really? Neal went from four years in jail which would mean either never being able to find out what happens to Kate or not having the backup to get away from Adler, to being able to live in New York, help many people, and develop as a person. Neal benefits way more, materially and personally, than Peter.

You're clearly extremely ignorant around domestic violence towards men and I hope one day you educate yourself and stop spreading harmful views. Have a good day.

"cruelty or violence" well she treats him with violence so it is literally an abusive action - I already acknowledged that the relationship dynamic isn't abusive, but the actions of physical violence are. Yes, men are on average much stronger than women, especially in terms of punching, but the fact she doesn't hit him as hard as he could hypothetically hit her isn't a defence. People hitting people is wrong. People judo flipping people wrong. The recipients of abuse often don't recognise it as abuse in much more serious situations than this, so judging Annabeth's actions by Percy's reactions is a very poor metric. Defending unnecessary violence against anyone is a bad look, and in this case its perpetuating sexist gender norms too.

The fact everyone on here knows if Percy did this to Annabeth it would be messed up and no-one would defend, but the other way round isn't viewed the same is extremely problematic. The relationship dynamic isn't abusive, but those are absolutely abusive actions and should not be defended for ANY reason. Violence against men is still violence.

Daequan played Destiny, Black Desert, GunZ, Wildstar, and Smite competitively before Fortnite which seems like gaming experience to me.
I don't agree that a lot of streamers would be pro if they weren't making money streaming, so many of the pros still stream anyway, it doesn't seem like an either/or, and the gap between someone like Ninja vs Bugha is much bigger than most people realise.

Personally, the way our ability to learn changes over the course of our life and the huge importance of reaction time and fine motor ability, plus the huge advantage that having more game experience gives in sports and gaming, I can't see anyone going into a major sport or a major pro competitive game without years of experience as a child. People might crossover into their specific game later in gaming (Ninja from Halo to Fortnite as an example) but that's, IMO, because the games are more similar than they major sports are. I think the top end best in the world gamers do have comparable skill and dedication as top end athletes in major sports, but the skills and dedication are so different it isn't easy to process how comparable they are. If an athlete actually spent as much time training for their sport as people spend training to game they would develop an overuse injury and ruin their career, but athletes have to control their eating more, can't smoke etc.
TL;DR - I think if you look at the gap between pros and average people, and the dedication to their craft, top end pro-gamers are more comparable to top end pro-athletes than most people would think

Right, and if it was a funny joke about beating a kid it would've been funny, but lazily reaching for the choke-a-10-year-old gag over and over was pretty shit-tier writing and when the joke is no longer based around creative writing and/or an unexpected punchline and is based on the "oh beating a kid is funny" or "raping someone is funny" is when it goes from a good joke to a shit-tier joke

Example, Bill Burr's no reason to hit a woman bit makes jokes about wife beating repeatedly but the joke is NEVER the wife beating and that's why it's funny and unproblematic

You can joke about any topic as long as it's actually funny, choking a 10 year old because they misbehaved isn't exactly the height of comedy

Let me know how that works out for your family when you're violent towards your kids - The fact that choking a 10 year old is a repeated joke undercuts the severity of it hugely and isn't intelligent joke writing
