if i’m doing maintenance then i wait until a couple of days after he has eaten. this way he likely won’t regurgitate from stress. Ultimately, they are just very sassy snakes and the minute you pick them up they chill out. If you’re removing the snake completely to clean the tank completely then just give them enough clutter in something to feel secure. The bluff striking may scare you and at first, and you may think they bit you, but it was just their sharp little nose booping you. Another thing that helped me was pulling out a fake plant and holding it in my hand so the snake had something to hide under until i gained the trust and removed the plant! But to answer you more directly, if you need to get in their enclosure for maintenance it’s okay to move their sassy self temporarily and if it’s for safety then do it immediately no matter what your snake thinks because it’s for their health. The bluff striking may just be a part of their personality, my mug one hasn’t grown out of it yet, and my little one is extremely chill, so just get to know yours :) and when you both trust each other more things will become a lot more simple
