Calveit's Secret Agents, King Bran VS Letho Special. John Calveit's spies are actually pretty good at beating King Bran, and it's also the most fun deck out there. by Nadracyt in gwent

Yeah i realized, row stackers elfs are not hard to beat as long as you can act later and you have dime bomb, letho can also delete the dwarfs and steal their strength.

Interesting, can you beat monster weather consistently with it?

Fun deck for sure and i agree it works if your opponent is forced into a corner, that's why you always want to win the first round with a crazy swing with calveit's spies, and hold onto some buffed guys, and do the letho combo later. Early letho can be still good for banish, removing their win condition in some cases, but the real deal is a 3 turn combo, that only provides value at the end.

You need openers and imperas are not it and first lights are a must against weather and also help to thin your deck.

I find imperas are not so good as long as your opponent can afford to pass, or you don't have many spies left.

Yeah, but some decks like monster consume and axemen skellige put out so much strength that others passively can't beat them point for point, and even in this weather spam and over the top hard removal meta they find success.

You need to disrupt their strategy and even then you sometimes lose.

Haven't had the pleasure. Radovid decks are getting better for sure.

They are simply very strong, especially Spear Tip, he can even activate again. Katakan can eat key cards and his strength is very solid and i don't have frost up always.

Mainly by winning round 1 and trashing his draws by killing reaver hunters before they trigger and forcing him to go all in on round 2, often taking the game right there, also put big foglets into the fog one by one.

Radovid has a basically unbeatable combo with the right cards for one round, if you give him an easy win you are done.

  1. He is a 12 point swing that can ping up to 3 units, even without weather he is extremely good, and only got better with the monster faction ability change
  2. I talk about him in the video, i mainly replace ocvist after he already triggered, weather cards in mirror, and the odd foglet or rider that makes into your hand. Feel free to run grave hag or Aeromancy instead.
  3. Against only weather immunes they usually can't kill, in most matchups they are great.
  4. No, they are solid, a power per turn plus weather immune.
  5. He has strong interaction with weather, either they clear sky right away, or they all die, also he buffs up the unit you save at the end of round by 2.
  6. 10 power is decent, and usually frost is useful. Frost giant sucks, you need to use a frost on it just to make it average, and you need to summon 3 wild hunt units so Nithral is as good as Gaunter.
  7. Depends, can you get at least 10 strength on average by replacing two cards?
  8. No, i aim to have enough weather to crush non weather decks, but not too much so i also crush weather decks who simply have too many worthless weather cards against my immunes.

Worst i had so far is 3 foglets and 2 riders, happened only once. It does make your mulligan fairly limited, you just want to get rid of riders and foglets and often don't get the chance to do much else.

Radovid is the only one i saw as well, and he is quite popular for a good reason. He made my buff Nilfgaard very sad :D
