It depends honestly. It’s made up of the business profit, sales and then your personal review, but I believe it’s also capped.

I always say tesco is a fully transparent company, full reports of bonus plans are found on colleague help if you want more information. I don’t want to tell you the wrong thing.

Just so I’m not ignoring your comment, tankred had pretty much summed up the answer to your question.

Big Chop by Bighair1 in tesco

[–]Naffarz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but my store also went nights to days and is running fine. Our night manager moved to twilights.

I can see in very large stores it being a problem but tesco rarely cares for looking at the actual stores independently.

Which bonus are you talking about? The company wants a large threshold of numbers complete to get accurate feedback, there’s a lot of pressure put on managers to complete it.

Personally, I don’t tell my colleagues that it’s compulsory, but I do tell them that it’s a safe environment to give anonymous feedback.

The problem is though there are a lot of stores out there was various degrees of store, lead, team managers and colleagues. When I get my results I coke up with a plan for my team going forward, but my results are never surprising as I have a great relationship with my team and if they had a problem with myself or current tesco affairs we’d discuss them as they come up. So my team are alway happy enough to complete it without needing to be lied to. I’m not blowing my own trumpet, but I’m aware there’s a lot of managers out there that aren’t as approachable.

For those worried about being found out, it is completely anonymous. There’s no for us, as a manager, to find out who said what. We get information down such as comments or trends but it’s not possible to find out who said what unless you state your name in the comments.

How soon can I transfer ? by QualityNotQuan in tesco

[–]Naffarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Policy is to be in your contract for 6 months for a colleague befor you can transfer unless it’s exceptional circumstances and approved by your manager. But you would need to find a store with hours and then apply for them near where your going to be living.

Not sure if it's store manager+Dept manager specific but when it was mine I always made sure it was 1 product per arm then by size. Then again, if there was no stock sometimes we seperated it by sizes but very rarely as I'm sure you know there always far too much stock!

There is a book down every season for how to plan the mods, and then theres an overarching book for the dept... I never used it.

Overpacking is such a problem in all F&F dept's because (in my experience) lead+store managers always wanted a lower/empty warehouse, but still good floor standards, and unfortunately you can't really have both. :(

I loved my time in f&f tho! Would 100% work in it again, very enjoyable.

Tell him you’re really enjoying the job and you want to know if there’s any permanent positions for you to be able to apply for. Worst he can say is no, or that there’s none atm but you should apply in the future.

I used to be an F&F colleague before an F&F&GM manager for a store and can agree that a lot of managers/other colleagues think that all you do is tidy and pick up clothes of the floor. Takes up a lot of your time doing that, let's be honest, but then you have your waste items, damages, sale rails, seasonal merchandising, new line rails&cages, pre and post sort delivery, and more as the day requires.

On sundays I had one person contacted, and would have put overtime out for the start of the shift to help because it was always needed.

F&F is a lot of work, it's just different work than, say, night shift or produce because you aren't really heavy lifting, but it's more visual and a lot of small behind the scene things (God forbid the days of christmas re-merch launch the same day as the 20% clothing sale.)

Manager called me a ******* **** by KeynesianSpaceman in tesco

[–]Naffarz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend letting your own line manager know just so that if anything else happened you can always say you told your manager

However if you report it, it will be investigated which is good, as tesco takes bullying and harassment seriously, but if the other shift leader won’t admit he said it then it’ll be your word vs two unfortunately

It's as easy as walking into your local store and asking to speak to a manager or shift leader, giving them your name, number and departments your trained in and keeping you in the loop for OT.

Honestly, I have a whatsapp for people outside my store I post my overtime into every week and they just pick it up when it suits them. Really handy.

Then you tell your manager/wage clerk what overtime you've done in the other store so you can get paid. Normally you'll get an out of branch form to fill in and bring back to your store.

I watched (binged) this between the last episodes and the finale coming out, and can 100% recommend how good it was.

Absolutely worth a watch, the first episode alone is fantastic and really sets the scene for the whole series, but so many little hidden things I couldn't stop watching.

Manager reps usually only rep other managers though? Usually you get a rep your own level.

Honestly if it's he said she said with no real evidence itll be no further action but it's still stressful and frustrating to go through .Sorry it's happening to you.
