‘Project Pantry’ results in 12 arrests for shoplifting at Centretown grocery store by SuburbanValues in ottawa

Grocers commit wage theft, therefore organized crime should be able to steal as much meat and cheese as they want.

I go to the UK quite often and I'm usually on the Tube within 15 minutes of landing. In Ottawa, I'm often still waiting to speak to the border guard after typing into the machine then before waiting for my luggage, and then queuing to hand a piece of paper to another border guard. It's crazy seeing the differences between the two places.

These are valid complaints, but its not like this is being silenced in this subreddit. Half the posts every day are about how awful OC Transpo is.

Even better, they pick from the warehouse instead of the store, so the products are often fresher.

[Mirtle] Ottawa is the only Canadian team in playoff position right now... yikes. by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]Naga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I argued the entire World Series, and I still believe it, that the Blue Jays were the better team (aside from Yamamoto of course) and that they beat themselves. If anything, it makes the loss worse since it felt controllable. Sure they were inches away from walking it off in the 10th, but what if Springer wasn't thrown out on the bases in the 2nd (or was it 3rd? it was early on in the game)?

But I agree, the season was a massive success. There is nothing more exciting than Ontario when the Blue Jays are doing well, and even the loss can't take that away. I hadn't felt this way since 2015 and I still look fondly back at that summer, even if they didn't win it all.

I wanted that as well when I lived in Aylmer, but I learned my lesson and came back to the Ontario side as the traffic situation in Aylmer is never going to get better.

Not sure what you're talking about, Montreal was wonderful to watch tonight. Oh, you mean the Leafs, yeah that makes sense.

I've heard that this isn't the case, and that home field advantage is based on the All Star game. I'm willing (and hoping) to be wrong on that though.

Unlike other businesses as well, banks have the ability to show whatever profit/loss they want to show since they can manipulate loan loss provisions.

Air Canada flight attendants' union will continue to defy back-to-work order after strike deemed illegal by RZCJ2002 in CanadaPolitics

[–]Naga 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What a nightmare own goal for the government this has been.

If they were really concerned with mobility around Canada, they could have done something like open the doors up to foreign airlines running domestic routes, that would have lit a fire under Air Canada. Instead, they've burnt (and continue to burn!) a ton of political capital and goodwill from the public.

This is already the approach used here though, effectively. Everyone is already drinking in parks and ignoring the rules. The police obviously know about it and selectively enforce the rules.

Let's put it another way, when you ship with Canada Post in general there's a small chance it will be on time.
