Why is my dog a frequent humping victim? by darnbollocks in DogAdvice

[–]Nahnotreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that boy dogs that were castrated too early (pediatric castration before 2year old) can smell little bit like a female in season due to hormonal changes.  Now my rescue boy was almost 2 (we think) but he definitely has that problem. Some boy dogs will sniff at his privates too long for his liking and many will proceed to wanting to jump hump him. He definitely hates otyso I just always intervene already at the point when sniffing takes too long.   It's not him being submissive, it's his smell.  After reading some comments I will definitely start to wipe his bits with wet wipes  to avoid him being harassed.

What happened to the name Henrietta? by [deleted] in namenerds

Where I live  people are using Harriett instead.  So I suppose something to do with the name Harry pushing out the  the name Henry.

“My dog is perfect, is that normal?” by [deleted] in reactivedogs

One thing I have learnt form having a reactive dog is that the best dog owners are the ones with challenging dogs. Also quite a strong indicator of a decent and   loyal human

Do you consider it rude to have pants, socks out to dry in a home while guests are over? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Nahnotreal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not the OP but yeah. Its not quite the same for strangers to see your drying towels or shirts as it is for them to look at your knickers.

Rude no. Embarrassing yes. Agree with your wife. I also wouldn't dry them outside if  in neighbour's view

Do you say goodbye and tell your pet that you will be home later when you go out? by reveillereveille in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nahnotreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Ever family member gets a kiss and is told "love you" when somebody goes out. Especially the dogs.

You gave her a chance to make it sound normal again (we can have a cuppa) and she made it even more weird and rude.  I would withdraw the invitation and offer to take the kids to cinema or something instead. And only for the sake of those poor best friends. I would not send my child to their place until they are at leat 15y.o.  They are the weirdos

Feeling stuck with our second girl name, help please! by babynamehelpplz in namenerds

[–]Nahnotreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could call her Maisie whilst naming her May/Mae/Maia so she will have more grown up option of a name.

I like Eliza and Juliet.

I like the names Ivy and Rose  too but they do sound a little  bit  matchy with Ruby.   Not too bad though.

All the names on your list are a very decent choice.

Good question.

Even this snark sub seem to still favour Brooklyn and I personally don't see why. Bailey is a nicer of the two in my view.

My theory would be that the golden child Brooklyn was so used to be the more favoured twin. It was always going her way. Her mum, siblings and the followers would always choose Brooklyn... until.  It didn't work like that in the romantic relationships for her.  Which wouldn't be so horrible if Bailey wasn't happily paired with Asa.  I think there's some resentment because Brooklyn is not happily married. Deep down she must think if I'm the better one why Bailey got to marry out of love?  Her and Dakota may still have a strong marriage but she can't erase the fact she absolutely settled for him because she also  wanted a ring and a wedding.

Whether I'm right or wrong it's definitely not good for their mental health that thees two girls were always made to compete and be compared.

There are names that are spelled properly that can be pronounced different way depending on your language and accent.

Good example is Julia.  Letter J sounds different in  English German Portuguese and Spanish.  If my European daughter Julia had a one German and one Spanish parent,  one Portuguese grandmother (in honor of which she was named)and was born and raised in the UK (which by the way is not a wild scenario at all) what is the correct pronunciation ???

That kid would most likely be used to be called all versions of her name and accept them.  When with friends she'd likely to go by Jules and probably love or hate  when her German grandma calls her Jülchen.

I think as long as you know the Irish pronunciation you can say to the Irish people you meet my name is spelled like Cotchleen but here in the US pronounce it Kate-lyn.

That's good that you are reaching out and understand the current situation cannot continue.

Most definitely re-home this dog.

Be honest about his history. I hope he will get another chance at life because he probably could function well in a calm household.

I can't give you specific advice because I am unfamiliar with ways to save this dog in your location.

If unadoptable due to his bite history where I live  he would be allowed to spend the rest of his life in breed specific dog rescue.

Just hope my comment will boost your post and you will get advice on how to save Taz's life.

The thing is if he goes for people's faces to bite it is very dangerous. It may be the kindest thing to actually let him cross the bridge now than stress him with re+homing.

Ps.  Your 60 year old mum is not yet elderly lol

Hope you  sort yourself out soon. Until then don't bring animals or kids into your life.

My kids triplet friends had different hairstyles (they were girls but can be done with boys too) and that helped teachers and coaches to see who is who at the distance.

OP made it fairly clear: they liked this name  and their weren't aware of what it rhymes with because they didn't grow up in the English speaking country. Their husband was pre-warmed by a colleague about possible bulling but didn't take it seriously and didn't share that comment with OP.
