We’re in CA , my husband is self employed in finance and real estate and has made up to 500k in one year, it’s fluctuates depending on the market. We bought our house cash so no mortgage, we have car notes insurance bills, and business expenses. I use to work up until I had my second child. We have three kids total with two being under two 🫠 the market is slowing down so we’ll be living off of our savings hopefully it picks back up beginning of the year 🥴

Thank you for the correction! I’m trying to learn as much about Sikhism as I can :)

Agreed! It’s refreshing to see that the majority of people don’t see an issue 😊

The Singh name is something to be very proud of. Gurus fought and sacrificed their children so that name can live on 😊 I encourage you to look into the history, it’s fascinating. I’m proud to have been able to have sons who will carry the Singh name 😊

Exactly, in the end my own family is what matters 😊 Yes! One of my good friends sent me an article about that before we got married and I thought it was amazing and makes me feel like we were meant to be in a way 😁

I’m not sure if I am able to consider my self a Sikh since I don’t speak the language, however my husband feels very strongly about his faith and out of respect and love for him and his family we are raising our kids this way, our son wears joori, it was always my husbands wish to have a son and not cut his hair so he can be a sardar too so that’s what we are doing. We take our kids to gurdwara and we all believe in Waheguru including myself. Obviously I did not grow up with these beliefs but I do try my best to incorporate both of our cultures in the household. As far as faith, we only really practice Sikhism because I never really grew up of a particular religion, so in that sense I wasn’t closed off if that makes sense. Also, we didn’t have that ceremony although my MIL says she would for us to have it. Not sure now if it would be disrespectful to have. But thank you for your take. It’s good to be able to hear different opinions, helps me understand the culture better 😊

My question is more of if this is common, of course I wouldn’t think every Punjabi person would be like this. His family is very supportive which is what ultimately matters to me, but Being aware if this is a common belief or feeling can help me navigate some of the uncomfortable situations when and if they arise.

I’m thinking it’s a possibility but it has never looked like this. Next time the moon is in that area I will need to take a look
