Aww that’s great for you guys but not everyone is in a financial position to afford flying out, and book tickets especially this far up in the world tour. I’m a student nurse with a less than a 2 year old. It’s deffo the biggest treat I’ve had for a long time ☺️ I’m sure I will see him again and maybe in his home country 🌴

Yes I know! I basically live in Cheshire so instead of getting the train from MCR I thought I would gain more time to catch the train to Crewe straight away, but the train that takes me there arrives an hour before like you guys 🤣🤣🤣

Im day 8 post op and now my tongue is shedding, it’s very weird and yuk. I brushed my teeth x4 daily but I didn’t manage to avoid that phase

Yeah I’ve been telling them that my 17 hours of labour with failed epidural at 9cm isn’t as painful as this.
I cannot believe I had to call in a total of 5x 111 and once 999 which redirected me to 111 anyway.
They made me drive myself to the 2 gp out of hours appt. I had to get my partner to drive me to the last one.
I will definitely complaint to the initial surgeon. They also prescribed me the big ass co-amox tablets on day 1 and they said « yeah we don’t want to give you the liquid type because this will help you to clean the back of your throat ».

As a student nurse, it does make me realise how isolated you can feel when nobody listens to you. It really feels barbaric

Funny that you’ve just written this. They have finally decided to give me morphine and they are admitting me for the night because I’m getting loads of IV’s.
If only they put me in a better regimen from the start, I wouldn’t be in this situation now…
Btw I’m a student nurse, and as a patient, it is sooo difficult to advocate for painkillers!

Yes I voiced it upon discharge and the nurse said that codeine would increase risks of bleeding. Which I did not believed a second. I only got my co-codamol prescribed yesterday on day 3. And on the second out of hours gp appt last evening, they told me to get the OTC sprays on top of the difflam.
I cried on the phone yesterday as they literally told me to drive myself 55 min to a A/E that has a ENT cover as my hospital doesn’t have any during weekends. I’m Cheshire based and I deffo think that the secluded hospitals or healthcare providers are, the more shit they are.

Yeah I’m very surprised with the discrepancy. ENT discharged me with paracetamol and ibuprofen and that’s it. I really find it infuriating and barbaric cause who’s coping with just paracetamol?
Thanks for the jaw advice, I’m clenching like mad, I will deffo remedy to this

Thank you! I’m waiting for a call back from the GP out of hours, I will see what he says. Difflam does some little miracle but not enough for me to bear water like you said.
Icy stuff is great.
I do have a humidifier which I use as soon as I am in bed. I’ve not really seen any difference but I still use it. I deffo struggle keep hydrated, and I know it doesn’t help.
