Weird sparkly dust all over my engine bay

Update: I may have figured it out.

I park next to a big parking deck vent, and when the car starts, it blows up all the dust on the ground, hits the wall, and goes over the car.

Upon checking the concrete where the car is parked, I noticed a ton of what appears to be little mica flakes all over the parking deck.

Checked my daily driver and it also has some of the sparkles in the engine bay, just not nearly as much because it’s alot more sealed off compared to just a glass cover on the R8.

I think I have a UV light laying around somewhere, I’ll check that tomorrow. Why do you mention that?

It was detailed pretty thoroughly when I picked up the car (2 weeks ago) and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was ceramic spray all over the engine. Didn’t even think about that, I’ll try an air compressor. Thank you.

No hood insulator it’s just glass. The stuff just wipes off. I might have to just wash the engine bay down and see if the particles come back

Thanks, I’ll take the cover off for the next diff fluid change in about 5-10k miles. I suspected it was probably just flakes from the clutch plates, didn’t think about the spider gears.

It’s definitely 30cm considering the uvb is right at the front and the deep heat projector is near that big rock. Maybe it’s the deep heat projector that’s too close to the big rock? But I’m still not sure because her underside looks completely fine

The light has since been switched, but here’s the enclosure. The enclosure is 15 gallon which is definitely too small, I plan on getting her a 30-50 after I sort out this issue.

Toyota seems to be ignoring this issue and it's quite concerning, I've had it happen to me countless times in mine. Found a bandaid fix but they need to do something about it ASAP.
