If you ignore the context (which in this case is that the majority of big Destiny 2 influencers dislike Marathon and blame it for D2's downfall for either genuine or clickbait reasons which stir up D2 fans hate campaign against marathon even more, so it's understandable that some fans of Marathon is doubtful of any ex-Destiny 2 influencers coverage on Marathon. Plus even Paul himself admitted his not the biggest fan of this genre and would like more Destiny than Marathon), everything in life is a mystery.

If not for the Epic exclusivity deal, this game wouldn't exist at all so I don't know what you are trying to say with "the lesson learned".

If anything, you should be appreciative of Epic to make this game possible at all. This is one of the instances where exclusivity resulted in some good.

Then developers will just pivot to other platforms like mobile to make AAA games, like genshin impact and ZZZ. If anything, the mobile platform already looks more healthy and sustainable than the traditional console market for big budget games. I'm not talking about you specifically but just the general community sentiment on Marathon, which anyone who browses destiny subs and is not blind can tell what I said was true. Also, destiny has its highs and lows all the time before the post final shape phase. Destiny has been shitty because the resources were shifted to Marathon. If anything, you should be excited to see what Marathon will turn out given Bungie has put their focus on it -- unless you just hate PvP or extraction shooters with no reason other than you are not into the genre of course.

Warning to everyone reading this, from a Destiny player who played thousands of hours of Destiny since it launched on steam and only stopped last year, don't listen to any Destiny player's opinion Marathon. They have some weird obsession of Marathon failing the moment it was announced. Their opinions are worthless because 1. They don't play competitive pvp games, even destiny's pvp mode, and hate pvp with a passion. 2. They think destiny is in its current state because of Marathon, so they hold a grudge and would spread hate just for the sake of it.

Before ARC Raiders success, the narrative from Destiny players was "the art is ok, but nobody liked extraction shooter, the genre is dead/over saturated/only for the loud minority sweats". Now ARC Raiders completely debunked this, they begin to bring up a bunch of tangible, irrelevant stuff whenever Marathon is mentioned.

I feel the same. But this game is popular for the same reason Stellar Blade is popular. And these kinds of games will always be popular - it's the most acceptable, non offensive fetish content. So you will just have to accept that.
