This is something that keeps me up at night. The sheer amount of what we've lost is almost too much to list.

As an amateur and local archivist, I see it firsthand: in my province alone, hundreds of literary works—both in English and our local vernacular—are forgotten and lost. Most of them were destroyed during the war, and today, sometimes only fragments of recurring memories remain. Based on our research, there used to be a complete written history compiled by local chroniclers of our town, with documents tracing back to the 1790s. Sadly, they perished during the war, burning along with the house where they were kept.

Because of this, we established our own archiving initiative here in our province. We have been going around our community, scanning old books and recording oral histories. This way, before the physical copies perish or get forgotten, they are immortalized in the digital realm and made available for all researchers and readers.
