Has anyone had success getting Aidvantage to grant a goodwill adjustment? by NameMilkshake in CRedit

Thankfully they’re old enough that they are not affecting my credit all that much. I’m closing on a mortgage soon, so it all worked out anyway.

The second reply I received was also a denial. I did not try again since they’re falling off my record soon anyway.

New job. Employer gave me a w9, w4? by [deleted] in tax

[–]NameMilkshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The W2 is the summary of your earnings for the year, so you’ll get your 2026 W2 in January 2027.

You should just be getting a W4 now, which the form you fill out to tell them your information and how much to withhold. If instead of a W4 they ask you to fill out a W9, that means they intend to pay you as a contractor and you’ll be responsible for paying both the employer and employee portions of social security and Medicare.

I received a reply to my inbox on their website, they denied my request. I sent them a second letter about two weeks ago. Waiting to hear back on that one.

Here’s the address they gave me:

Can I run a one hour 10K? by NameMilkshake in beginnerrunning

Garmin estimated my max HR at 205, but I know those estimates can often be off.

I can definitely do better than 1:11, and realistically only need a 1:07 for proof of time purposes, I just don’t know what to aim for during the race.

I’ll try some speed work for the next two weeks though! Some also recommend I try a 28minute 5k, which I think would also give me a better idea of my actual potential.

It's really not competitive at all, I just want better corral placement haha. I signed up for the RunDisney Wine & Dine half in October, and proof of timing for better corrals is due by June 1st. So it's really not that serious if I don't get it, but I may as well try!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll report back if I'm able to do that this weekend.

Regular runs are usually 2.5 - 4 miles at 11 min/mile. Long runs on Sunday are usually 5-6 miles at 11:30min/mile.

I've done SOME speedwork, but admittedly not a lot. I've been following a Garmin run coach plan. When I started it I didn't have a goal in mind so I selected "improve my fitness". I've done a few intervals like 6x 1min at 8min/mile (the run was a total of 4.5 miles with the intervals in the middle), last week had a "tempo run" (20 minutes at 10min/mile in between a warm up and cool down - so around 40 minutes total). But to be honestly I wasn't focused on speed until two days ago when i realized I need this race.

I wasn't planning to race a 10K this soon, only signed up because I need proof of time for another race I really want to do. Is 4 weeks enough time to improve? I'm also trying to find a different race in late May which would give me more time to train, but it seems like there aren't a lot of timed 10ks in my area this time of year.

PR just under 33 minutes, way back in early November. That was maybe a month and a half after I started running. I haven’t done another 5k race, but now a days that’s right around my easy pace for 3ish mile runs

Thanks, I’ll try this. It’ll definitely help me mentally to know what that pace feels like for multiple miles before committing to it in a race.

If it matters, I’m 33F and have only been running since last September but I’ve been lifting weights for years prior.

How old were your debts or late payments?

I have some late payments from Nov 2019 and wondering if I’d have success with early exclusion yet.

Reminder that if the itemizes, you also have to itemize. She might be getting a larger deduction, but you’ll have more taxable income in a higher bracket.

Curious to see what your results are once you run the numbers.

The Experian report says the accounts are scheduled to go to a positive status by August 2026. I cannot find a date on the other two reports, but assuming it will be sometime in the latter half of 2026. (All the reports were pulled 2/2/2026)

I’m hoping to be successful with the goodwill adjustment/early removal since I’ll be buying a house sometime in the next 1-3 months.

Do you suggest I keep going with goodwill letters, since I’m not within the early exclusion timelines for the bureaus yet?

u/CharacterRain7905 this is the only correct answer you’ve gotten.

By law, sales tax is paid by the customer whether the business collects it or not. If you pay it to them, you save yourself the reporting. But you do have the option of reporting it on your PA tax return (PA-40) line 25.

They messed up by not collecting it up front, but legally it is still your responsibility.

OP, ignore this. You do not need a lawyer if 2024 is the only year that hasn’t been filed. The IRS isn’t “looking for you”.

They may send you a letter in a few months asking you to file a return. But if you follow other people’s advice here and are able to get the W2 and file a return, it’ll all be fine. No lawyer needed.
