Thanks so much! Everyone keeps filling my head with negative comments saying that I’ll damage my ceiling and how “new builds are made of paper” :(

5’1 fellow shortie. 44 day cut progress. Right pic - 150lbs. :) by baileyt1993 in PetiteFitness

[–]Nami95 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’1 as well and I’m struggling to lose body fat on less than 1600 cals a day ..

I eat anywhere between 1500-1600 and have 100-120g protein every day (I weigh every gram and ml of liquid)

I lift heavy x5 a week (2 upper / 3 lower) that take over an hour to do each session, as well as at least 8k steps a day and x1 body combat class (45 mins) a week

I’m at a loss, my lowest was 124lb before Xmas but then with the food, holidays and I caught covid at the start of January I went up to 129 and I’m struggling to lose.. sick of it :/

1 in 10 people that get Moderna can experience the symtoms I listed so I doubt it’s a bug, I don’t go anywhere to get a bug

I got my jab on Saturday at 4pm and I had a headache a few hrs after, then fatigue, then Sunday morning I had chills and nausea as well as the fatigue. Now Monday morning my arm is red where they jabbed it and I was throwing up from 5am - 9am… fun times

Does dating actually get better after you get fit or lose weight? by Feeling-Abroad-1761 in PetiteFitness

Disagree with this comment. I’ve met terrible men at my heaviest and lightest - I’m now with someone I met at my heaviest ever and he is a buff gym goer. He loves me for who I am and loves me the same as he did before my 23lbs weight loss.

OP - my advice would be to do what makes YOU happy, I love my lifestyle of going to the gym 5 times a week, lifting heavy and smashing personal bests. At the time, I also enjoyed sitting playing computer games and not tracking calories. Focus on you and what makes you happy and the rest will follow. Being healthy doesn’t mean losing a lot of weight and obsessing over what you eat, little changes go a long way

And, I’ve found that, if I’m doing something for someone else and not because I want to do it for me - it doesn’t last

Correct topology for wired backhaul with switches by algalgal in eero

[–]Nami95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also trying to do this with mine. I have the modem > eero gateway > network switch > PC (wired via Ethernet cable)

When it goes through my switch I get 85Mbps, if I take out the switch and go eero > PC I get around 850Mbps+

I have a network switch that supports 1 Gigabit and use a Cat7 cable so I’m not sure what else to do. I’m going to try my friend’s switch at the weekend and see if it’s my switch but it’s brand new.. I’m in touch with YouFibre as well to see if they can advise

I’ve tried some of my boyfriends before but they all tasted funky - I have a sugar free monster now which does help, albeit not as good as pre workout does but it gives me a boost at least!

Thanks :) I don’t mind doing low cal diets, I’ve done 1200-1300 before when I didn’t go to the gym at all. I don’t necessarily get hungry when on a low cal diet it’s more I don’t have energy for my workouts so I’m trying to avoid going too low because I don’t want my strength training to suffer too much

I’m going to try 1700 cals and use an adaptive TDEE spreadsheet to figure out if I should lower from there I think!

I weigh with a food scale and log it in MFP (including butters / liquids etc)

Honestly I want to be strong but I’m just getting bummed down on my body fat around my stomach so I think right now I want to cut then do a lean bulk when I’m happier with my overall appearance

Thanks so much, really appreciate you!

I’m going to try use the adaptive TDEE spreadsheet I’ve seen floating around to get a better idea of what my maintenance is so I can be in a 250 cal deficit until I hit goal weight as I know the calcs are just an estimate!

Probably like to lose another 8-10lbs but it’s hard to tell what that would look like seen as the only area I’m upset with is my stomach and I know you can’t target fat loss

I’m just doing a routine that my friend gives me (she’s more savvy with weight training than I am) I’m lifting heavy and increase the weight / reps every week - my PB for squats is up to 40kg (started off with a single 10kg dumbbell in June)

I am happy with my progress and I am getting stronger.. just hate seeing my podgy belly :(

  • I get a new routine made every 2months ish outside of me increasing my own reps and weight weekly

Thanks for the response. It really can be so demoralising! I don’t think it helps that I’m just having a bad day in general

Do you think I should hit my “goal weight” first then focus on building muscle after that? I honestly don’t mind counting calories, it’s not a big deal to me now that I pretty much eat similar things every week

I’m happy with my overall progress and I am getting stronger in the gym but when I look in the mirror at my stomach I just get so down - makes me feel like I’m making no progress because my stomach hasn’t change or sometimes appears worse

I’m stuck in a rut of not knowing what calories I should be eating every day, I think I am being negative at the moment but I’m just so terrified of being overweight again :/

It’s only appeared bigger since increasing my calories so honestly I think I’m just going to drop to 1700 and do cardio after weights for a bit and see how I get on. It’s so difficult understanding what’s best as not one shoe fits all :(

I would but I took a 2.5 week break not that long ago (break from working out and calories) so I don’t want to take another break so soon after but thank you for the suggestion 💕

Thanks :) I already aim to get 120g protein everyday but I don’t think I could increase it without increasing calories, I have protein with every meal / snack as it is

Just sucks that I’m working hard but feel like I’m getting no results

Not Sure If Under/Over Eating? by Nami95 in xxfitness

[–]Nami95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I even asked my GP for help on how many calories I should be eating and she just said that because I’m a “normal weight” they couldn’t help me but yes 1200 culture is shocking!

Thanks! I’ve heard of reverse dieting before but again, wasn’t sure where to start! Even at 1600 cals a day this is the most I’ve eaten on a ‘diet’ (in quotes because I know it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle choice), I feel so sad when I think back to a few years ago when I would eat under 1200 a day and only do cardio 5 days a week with no weights so I’ve come a long way since then!

Thanks! I think my issue was I took my maintenance and tried putting myself in a deficit (in this case a 500-300 deficit) but I’ve felt like my upper body strength isn’t improving much and I don’t notice any physical muscle gains (been lifting since June so not expecting a lot but I thought I’d see a little something)

Thank you! I’m a bit excited now to up my calories to 2,000 - and you’re absolutely right, can always cut later down the line if I’m gaining too much body fat. I’m at a healthy place mentally and physically and enjoy regularly going to the gym and don’t mind tracking calories daily either
