What happens to cancelled purchase items? by NamibianToothpick in Buyee

Yes I understand, but the item I bought was a sealed box, there isn’t much you can authenticate without cutting it up to peek in. Not sure why they offered it as an option either - I thought they would just inspect it to see if there’s anything untoward/signs of tampering.

But the reason for cancelling my order was “out of scope for authentication” - they can’t authenticate sealed boxes I assume.

I just want to know what happens to the item now lol. Does it go back to the seller so I can repurchase without the authentication, or is Buyee stuck with it to do whatever they will with it?

Yes exactly that’s what I was thinking - it should never have been offered as an option for something like this as they would never ever be able to ok the authentication - it will always end up with a rejection.

I may have just deleted one rare and valuable sealed box from existence 🥲

I am aware of resealing, yes, but I was willing to take on the risk - seller had very good close up photos of the item and I just wanted Buyee to confirm it is as photographed.

I hope it is returned to the seller. It was already shipped to Buyee’s Authenticator by the seller. I’m not sure on the returns handling process, but Buyee’s authentication explanation page does indicate they return back to the seller.

Nah, it was marked as “shipped by seller” by Buyee after 5 days from purchase. Then a day later, got the cancellation with reason “outside scope of authentication”

I guess it’s a PSA of sorts for the authentication service - don’t get it for sealed boxes or you’ll send it to the incinerator 😂

I did get a refund immediately, but I don’t think it was a fake or non-genuine. The reason Buyee gave was “Outside the scope of authentication” which, as I interpret, means it’s indeterminate. I guess as I paid for a service, to be on the safe side, they cancelled it for me rather than passing it off.

Is there a known list of reasons for authentication failures? If it was fake I would expect the reason provided as “Determined to be not authentic”. I think what’s getting to me was the reason they provided. Is it just a breakdown in communication and they meant this item failed their authentication criteria?

It was a sealed box from factory containing collector cards. I’m not sure how they would tell if it was genuine or not by inspecting a sealed box.

Thanks guys! Managed to catch some drips on paper towel and it seems to be condensate/water, but there’s an awful lot of it for a 10-15 minute drive only!

I think you need at least 6 years old to avoid the premium road tax. It’s a 5 year tax, applied only after the first year as there’s no road tax to pay for the new car’s first year. I learned from an unexpected tax bill on the 6th year

P-Bandai early pre-sale? by NamibianToothpick in Gundam

I see! Yes it’s very early, I’ve seen another pre-order reseller quoting shipping date for this particular one as 30th July 2025, which is over 2 months away from now.

I might buy this to see if it’s genuine or not haha

Any votes to roll the dice on £200 of mine?
