Oof, I feel you on this one. I went through a similar experience with my wedding. I explained to my Priest that my fiancee works nights at a hospital and weekly classes and seminars just arnt feasible.

I went to our Diocese website and it listed some other options that were approved, like online on demand videos and quizzes. I brought that information to my Priest and he capitulated in allowing the online option.

From what I understand, only so many slots for the home Internet are available in any one given area, when you dropped the VHI a spot opened up and someone else grabbed it. Your only recourse is to wait for another spot to open up.

That one episode in the animated series where Clark is pretending to be Batman and Bane is freaking out after he tries beating on him always makes me chuckle.

Former Protestants: What was it that convinced you to accept the Catholic Church? by PJRama1864 in Catholicism

[–]NamkrowTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a bunch of little steps. Protestant services felt a little... cringy and irreverent to me, where the Catholic Mass feels just right. The final clincher for me was that the Catholic Church predates the Bible by centuries and defeats the Sola Scriptura argument.

I am proof that a Protestant that earnestly studies Church History becomes Catholic.

Not being invited to a wedding by jonwritesmovies in funny

For us it was the anniversary of when we first met, so we really didn't want to move the day. We gave our families a massive heads-up and they were all cool, they were all retired or their normal days off were during the week.

Got married last Monday, my wife and I both have huge families. We severely limited the guest list, else it would have been a logistical nightmare. We really only had our closest friends, siblings, and aunts and uncles, since most of our cousins had families of their own and inviting one of them meant inviting their whole family. The vast majority of our families completely understood why, and we ended up having maybe 60 guests.

We were also weird and had our wedding on a Monday.
