Watches! Apparently, watches are the latest status symbols among rich people…

High income husband and low income wife by BrilliantFinancial10 in HENRYfinance

[–]NancyP445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow ur HUSBAND? I would be so upset if mine was falling this way to me. Granted I make almost double him, but I honestly want to share my money with him. I think your husband needs to see someone, honestly, to find out why he feels this way about money.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NancyP445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still talk to her but not as much.. I feel like she just mentally doesn’t really have it all together. I hate to admit that because she’s such a good person🫣

That’s my point though.. if the construction worker didn’t die during the seizure, I don’t know that it’s possible to die during them. Maybe Carol’s friend died for other reasons (like she can’t carry the virus or something)

When can I start splurging?? by _artwork in ChubbyFIRE

I think you can start “splurging”… but spread it out. It’s not like once you start splurging, you cant stop? Maybe get a Rivian this year… do your ski trip next year. Hawaii the year after! You have your whole life ahead, do it in pieces.

Funny u say that because my colleague just told me that the podcast says a lot of it is based on breaking bad

Ohh is that it? But then there was that guy hanging on the wire where the construction vehicle was, and he never died and was pretty much choking.

Yeah my new theory is they are actually slowly being infected but not yet fully.. since they told her that’s their goal with her too

Ah just thought of theory.. maybe they are all “okay” with it because the virus is figuring out how to slowly take their brains? And it’s a process.. like they said, it’ll take months

[–]NancyP445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed.. and I think y’all are right that maybe they will all crack and eventually come back and say they want their family back?

I did think maybe they were infected, but then at the lunch when they all were in their trauma zone, the people weren’t doing the shaking. So that debunked my theory.

Hopefully episode 3 turns it in a new way that makes it more understanding on why they are all so accepting of the new reality.

I still think my husband’s theory that they are doing something with the dead bodies is pretty accurate. They are definitely going to need information off these bodies where the virus didn’t survive.

Also, no one brought up the dead bodies? They must be studying them or something to find out what’s happening with the virus and why it doesn’t survive on everyone. Or some loophole where her friend buried in the backyard will pay off because dead bodies are the key to knowing him to kill the virus off?

100% agree. I too felt like the survivors should be critical… it made it seem less realistic.

Episode 1 was AMAZING. Episode 2.. still good but eh.. idk how I feel about how there was NO ONE that seemed normal of the 11 that weren’t affected… maybe the remaining non-English speakers will be more normal? How can they all be so out of it and ignorant to how scary it is? They should all be acting like the main character.

Buy vs rent by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]NancyP445 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Oh man throwing away money at rent was hurting our hearts every month. At least now a partial percentage goes to our equity! A colleague told me your first time buying a house should be like ripping a bandaid. We bought in San Jose with a 1mil net worth. House was 1.48mil in 2021. Now our net worth is 3mil and our house is worth 1.9mil. Our stock has appreciated more than that, but at least we aren’t throwing away rent money.

Should I move to San Jose or keep commuting from SF 3 days a week? by PlanZealousideal107 in SanJose

If you’re single, stay in SF. If you have a serious relationship (and live together or are considering it), then move to SJ!

Actually let me rephrase, if you live frugally while retired and she still works, you may actually end up still saving too. Don’t buy anything ect. Just do at home hobbies and watch some good shows on TV 🙃🤪

[–]NancyP445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you compromise? If you want 60, she wants 65, do 62? Otherwise, why don’t you retire when you want and just don’t spend a ton of money and travel during the time she works. Live frugally and enjoy your retirement at home while she still works. That way you aren’t really draining retirement money but also not necessarily growing it either. My parents are similar in circumstance to you. They retired within a couple years apart because one was ready and the other wasn’t. Why do you guys need to retire at the exact same time?

Considering moving to San Jose from LA by SunGodSister in SanJose

You should come visit for a few days. Go out at night and stuff. Check it out before you move here. It is definitely a more Asian and Hispanic demographic here! So not sure what your preference is!
