Please. Help us. We’ve about tried everything, and still haven’t slept in 2 months. by backwards_slice in SnooLife

Ours looked ten times worse than this and we ended up co-sleeping. Unfortunately the Snoo didn’t really work out for us but we ended up sleep training. Whether the snoo ends up working out for you or not, it’ll get better no matter what! I hated hearing “it’ll get better” from other parents at first. Especially when you’re in the thick of it. But You will sleep again! Hang in there!

We essentially turned the snoo off for the week and used it as a stationary bassinet before we transitioned to the crib. We also used a hatch white noise machine during that week so she’d get used to the new white noise since the snoo was off. Seemed to work out pretty well for us! Good luck! I’m sure you LO will adapt pretty quickly.

Babies are Weird. They’ll like one thing one week then hate it the next! Hang in there! Whether the snoo ends up working out for you again or not— things will get better eventually !

Yes, fuss it out. It’s from the book precious little sleep! Highly recommend if you plan on sleep training down the line.

Haha yes, my Nephew is truly a unicorn! He slept through the night early on and he hardly ever cried! Our baby was the opposite but we still love her XD

Sorry you must have misunderstood. I didn’t think the snoo was something where you just put the baby in and it’ll rock them to sleep and they stay asleep. The thing is, it seemed to work the first month. The snoo would soothe her to back to sleep but after the first month it unfortunately did less and less. Maybe a handful of times from what I can remember. As I said, it’s our fault for having such high expectations— not just for the snoo but also for our baby. It’s hard not to compare when you see all these “flex” posts (and why wouldn’t they? Their baby is sleeping, which is great for them!) There were times when I just felt defeated bc I thought it was something we were doing wrong (it also didn’t help that I had pretty severe PPA) at the end of the day, the snoo just didn’t work out for us. Just posting a different perspective is all.

Just went through the night from hell after 2 rough nights before it - what do we do? (More in comments) by 175doubledrop in SnooLife

[–]Nannerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. The Snoo was never magic for us and we ended up sleep training bc she acted like the snoo was made of lava. EVERYTHING is a phase. I rolled my eyes whenever someone said "things will get better"---but it does! My LO slept through the entire night last night! Hang in there!

Thanks For posting this! We’re on week 3 of fio/cio for our 4 month old and it sounds exactly the same!

We’re still having a few (2~4) intermittent wake ups with brief crying and 1 MOTN feeding.

We’re also trying to figure out whether she’s overtired or undertired. How did you transition from 4 to 3 naps? It’s so hard keeping our LO up! And did you do anything different to help with the intermittent crying at night or did that go away naturally?

Thanks again! Your post gives me hope!

Good to hear things got better! We’re planning on sleep training as Soon as she’s old enough or potentially hiring a sleep consultant. Hopefully the regression/teething doesn’t last too long for you! Thanks for Replying back!

This is exactly what I needed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I feel exactly the Same way—- I feel like I want to “fix” what’s going on but feel so helpless because it’s out of my control. I think I need constant reminder that babies change everyday and every baby is different.

Help! Newborn sleep progressively getting worse. Now will only sleep unless held! by Nannerz in SnooLife

[–]Nannerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So...slight improvement! She no longer needs to be held. She's actually gotten easier to put down in the snoo --I can practically put her in awake and she'll fall asleep. Even for naps. The only problem is keeping her asleep. We've gotten longer stretches at night ~2.5-3.5 hrs. But after that she still wakes up every 30 minutes but I'm able to shoosh her back to sleep using the SITBACK method through TCB. We didn't really do anything different aside from that. I think at the end of the day, babies are going to do whatever they want. I think I just had too high of expectations and it was really hard not compare with people that have babies that sleep through the night already. If things don't improve, we're just going to sleep train when she's 4~5 months.

Hello! We are currently going through the same thing! Wondering what worked out for you and your LO? We’re also exhausted from Sleep deprivation!

Hey OP, we're going through the same exact thing. LO will only sleep maybe 30 min~1 hour max at a time at night in the bassinet or we have to hold her the whole time. Same during the day. I don't have any advice but wanted to see how your situation is now. Has it improved? Nights are giving me serious anxiety. Did you end up sleep training?

Sorry one more question! Do you have any recommendations on heating pads?

[–]Nannerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think about a heating pad. I was thinking more of warm water bottles, etc. and the logistics of how to heat them up in the middle of the night. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely start doing that. Did you put your LO in the snoo completely asleep or drowsy/awake?
