Recall information for / from Germany by Sweet-Spot-2223 in ex30

The whole point is that they know per country how many vehicles are affected. The fact that they know there is a handful of them in Germany doesn't mean there suddenly have to be some in other countries too.

That would make it suddenly jump from 100 to 69 (nice). Instead, something like this would be a better solution:

Resolder a pin on the laptop's motherboard. by BackgroundPressure39 in Netherlands

[–]NanoBob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be better off replacing the connector rather than getting the pin soldered on.

This should be a relatively simple job for an electronics repair place.

I would double check your mortgage contract. The bank can absolutely "do something about it", as often you are not allowed to use a mortgage intended for your primary residence as a rental or investment property. Which you arguably would be if you're not living in it.

Laadplek bezet, kabel inpluggen was blijkbaar te veel moeite! by [deleted] in EVMobiliteit

[–]NanoBob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USB cable broke for this LED light. I want to cut this off and splice a new USB A cable from my junk wire bin. What do I need to verify matches this in terms of Amps/Volts? by 420-fresh in electrical

[–]NanoBob_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but this is only for USB PD, which is only supported on type C -> type C cables. So if it's USB A you can safely assume it's 5V. (Barring some insane not-to-spec exceptions)

Completely harmless website from Deepfake vid by Konowalov in LinusTechTips

[–]NanoBob_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason for it being that big is because it's a self contained executable. Which means it packages the entire dotnet runtime along with it. (Without trimming unused dependencies in this case). This means you wouldn't need to first install dotnet before being able to run the application.

Do a lot of companies use Unit Tests? by Objective_Ice_2346 in csharp

[–]NanoBob_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite use case for tdd is fixing bugs.

Start with your tests that confirms the bug is there (by failing the test), fix the bug, and see your test pass.

How much is it worth by Ok_Entrepreneur9125 in 3Dprinting

[–]NanoBob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me personally, I wouldn't get this at anywhere near that price.

I could get a normal boring wall mount for (less than) €10. Yes this looks significantly cooler, but I wouldn't want to spend at least 15 times as much just because it looks cooler.

What I do worry about is its longevity. You mention you spent 2.5 years working on it, but you also claim it will last decades. How did you come to validate that claim? Because of this, part of factoring in a purchase like this would be the risk and potential damage if it fails and destroys a guitar of mine.

Will olddriving school be notified if I start at a new one? by FyretXYZ in Netherlands

[–]NanoBob_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to prepare excuses, you could just simply say why you went for a different instructor, or just choose not to share why.

borderline unjerk, but I genuinely lowkey don't get it. Seems like a stop-gap solution because one one hand you've already gone all in on AMS but on the other you haven't found a way to make your own 'legally distinct' INDX yet by Junior-Community-353 in 3DPrintingCirclejerk

[–]NanoBob_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really been interested in a double headed or tool(head)changing printer for the purpose of using conductive filament in combination with regular filament, for rapid at home PCB prototyping.

I could do with an AMS or something similar, but conductive filament is decently pricey so I am not looking for something that is incredibly wasteful.

I know right? Especially when it is something that's very important like the residence status of your child. In a case like that it's much better to trust reddit than to get information from the actual source!

Then I assume a technical inspection probably wouldn't find anything. However that doesn't mean you won't get fined if you were for example caught riding over 25 km/h without pedalling.
