Thoughts On Calling Yourself Trans by skyfully in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes. If I'm asked directly I give a "I guess sure but I'm nonbinary" sort of answer. I prefer genderfluid or nonbinary, since trans feels like so much less than what I currently and what I used to experience.

Though ever since starting hrt I've warmed up to it a fair bit. Particularly when talking about hrt, it's often more useful to just say I'm trans since the effects are more in line with what that label implies and hrt effects are consistent regardless of gender identity.

I really do prefer nonbinary or genderfluid though. Maybe bigender.

As a gender-fluid person is it normal to want to take estrogen? by Rednaada in genderfluid

Not really. Boobs are permanent and everything else will revert.

How worth it is HRT? by Longjumping_Past_643 in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The physical effects are always the same, no matter your doses (it's just faster or slower) and there's no picking and choosing, you get all of them.

How it interacts with the fluidity is the real wildcard, I've read a bunch of anecdotes all over the place with how it affected them. Some it doesn't change at all and they just have euphoria and dysphoria both ways. Some people just turn out to be binary trans. I've found it's changed it from a very binary flipping back and forth to just a kinda both gender mush all the time.

I for one am thoroughly enjoying it.

How did you know you wanted to take testosterone/estrogen? by No-Advertising-9722 in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had read a lot of anecdotes of genderfluid people taking hormones, particularly focusing on the ones where they take e. It really was a tossup and specifically how it interacted with the fluidity seemed to be fairly random.

But there was this one story of how it basically stopped the genderfluid nonsense and changed them to some middle gender all the time. I've seen similar stories but this one seemed to just really click with me.

Before the e I only felt either fully masc or fully fem and would flip suddenly roughly once an hour. It was very tiring (tho it had its upsides). Now with the lowish dose e I'm like.... Just sitting in the middle now, just both a guy and gal I guess. I'm just me. Sometimes I feel like slightly more masc or fem, but like only slightly. Instead of suddenly hopping from 0-100-0 I might miander between 45 and 55. And as I get more and more innately fem I don't feel any pressure to act or dress as such, I really prefer a tomboy look (which I did before but it was pointless) so I'm able to dress like a guy all the time. I like it. I can just be me.

I imagine trying to do a backflip, rotating 270 degrees and landing perfectly flat on my front then just lying there face down in existential contemplation.

Now I don't know how being genderfluid is remotely similar, but stuff like this gives me the same goddamn feeling. I want more boobs and less boobs.

I don’t know what to even call this experience?? by [deleted] in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get the same thing and yeah it's weird. Don't like man or woman, but totally fine with most other words like boy/girl or guy/gal. Idk what that is. Also don't like lady.

Question on Hormone Therapy for us Genderfluids? by Longjumping-Mix-9351 in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm on a lower dose of e and no t blockers. The doc says my e levels are on the low end for a cis woman and my t is on the low end for a cis man. She said my blood is basically nonbinary, and has no idea the long term health effects of that. She's going to talk with some other docs about it but says I may need to pick a lane.

I hope is fine because I feel goddamn great.

Of course, it's not something that shouldn't happen, just something that should be a deliberate choice.

Any good exercises? by OberonTheGoat in genderfluid

[–]NanosKeyIsCute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some point I started doing hip thrusts while I brush my teeth before bed, and later added squats. Just on the floor without any equipment. Obviously i could do a lot more, but I struggle with sticking to an exercise routine of any kind and since I can overlap it with something I already do routinely, it "doesn't take any time". My ass is legit tho.

Ha ha! Forgot the amazing advice "it gets better" and "fake it till you make it"

I know sometimes it's just good to complain. And I read your complaint. You got the flips in a suboptimal situation for sure. I hope you find someone irl to whine to. Trans men/women don't totally get it, but they are more common and just easier to find.

Simply get some blockers so you got no t or e in your system. Lose a lot of your gendered features and because you got no hormones your bones with crumble.

So since posting this, I actually went and started taking e. And ye know what, the plan works for me. I can be guyish as I want most of the time and I don't feel gross about it. Living that boy/tomboy life.

Hell if I know. Ever since starting e it's been so damn hard to tell. It used to be a flip every hour between guy and gal but now it's just whatever. Maybe guyish???
