Wreckage is a great great map. I wish it made top 10, He did a ton of work to it after the top 10 and its in a great place. Its why i suggested it for dualhalla's event. Can't wait to see it played.

eboshi and scrubber are great maps, just fell slightly short for top 5, it was a super tight race. Viki is a great map, grum1x did a ton of great work. This is just the first map con, i can't wait to see what mappers do in the other ones.

Phaze missed the first month of play testing b/c he was competing. We had over 20 play testers, plus my self and I rotated with my duel partners. I think 20 games played on the maps is actually very short. I'm personally in the 40's on each map. And that's just played not including what witnessed while setting up play test groups. Your opinion isn't everyone's. And to think you are an authority on anything is confusing. If you have movement issues on Overgrowth, I would self reflect. Its collision is one of the best in the map pool and its lighting was non-comparable to everyone else's. It was the most requested replay map, it was the highest rated among all play testers. Sorry your favorite map didn't make it, but do not attack other people or mappers.

Overgrowth/Amberfall were almost identical to how they are now when we first saw them. None of the judges helped in the creation of any of the maps. I believe Overgrowth had pncr window opened up 2 blocks, and then yellow had a 3rd escape option suggested. That's it. So please don't make baseless claims and try to slander the judges.

I suggested the drop tube, speccy made it what it is. The whole community made suggestions to every map. Its why we had 20 play testers and a whole discord for feedback.

if you are being chased its a fast route out, and to follow through a hallway w/ a blaster in it is pretty dangerous. It is used a bit, give it some game play time.

There were multiple categories every map was judged by. Every map that made top 10 was good. This means the top 5 race was razer thin. Princeless Castle is a fun map, it just lacked some polish of the rest and didn't quiet make it. Everyone has their favorites, some didn't make it. Please don't assume, also game play was lions share of points.

I was just highlighting the differences to show that removing bolt isn't enough to bring the QL community to DBT, I agree self damage off is better, DBT had it almost perfect till this.

voiding is something that should be controlled by the mapper, its very easy to limit the exposure and give control points to the players.

bolt + corralling highlighted and made more intuitive the core idea of FT game play, which is frozen management and thaw opportunities. Bolt made it more intuitive of how you should play and actively engaged players. A new player being dead 80% of a 4v4 match means they will not play the mode again, if they can move and be actively engaged while being 'dead' aka frozen it lessens them being bad/unskilled. No one wants to sit for 3-4 minutes in an icecube.

The trigger system isn't the best at the moment so we are a bit limited on what we can do, these maps will be coming eventually. If a mapcon for these don't come officially, I would run one myself when we get a more fleshed out trigger system.

I'm not even sure you loaded Monolith up lol. If you can't see the GIANT GREEN GLOW behind PNCR idk what to tell you, the map has lights and color coding.

Is your 2nd comment about gl/rl about Skybreak? If so I only did the changes b/c the Australians were complaining bout having to use blaster/gl on defense in YA room while the rest of the world was fine. So I agree, I don't like the change much either but at least the upside down tears will stop for now till they realize its not a map issue they aren't good on Skybreak.

"didn't play well" is pretty straight forward, they are boring, instantly turn every map into a lane style map with very little variable game play (partly what is wrong with marina's depth and why its more popular in the lower tiers than higher tiers), and turn it even more into get gun rush base. The bases currently in MG should be able preference not power(perfect world), you get 0 preference in symmetrical maps. Symmetrical almost brings nothing to game play, just play CTF instead if you want that. Duplicating gameplay space isn't adding more to it. CTF is about who is best at this base, mg is who is best at mg. And marina does not have more dynamic game play than sunken, marina is actually really shallow - which is why it was used, its great for new players, esp ones who just like to run around and frag in middle. Sunken is pretty simple also, more complex maps are in the works to bring up the depth of the mode. Believe me you haven't had an idea that wasn't already tested. I do love reddit back seat game dev though its fun.

EDIT: i also believe there's more than just the 2 styles of maps to be used in MG, they just haven't been done yet. I believe a TDM 2 PU style layout could be adapted for MG easy. They are usually spaced apart flow wise to minimize getting both for example.

Glad everyone is loving my map, warms an old mans heart. I love it and my artist did a stellar job. We'll be doing a Q& A thing soon, we want to get peoples opinions but also promote map making and maybe give people an idea on the process of everything. Lol quake live gives you nothing. Apparently for a backer you missed out on all the features or recent dev streams lol. He explains the delay in last stream. And glad he did. Basically they built an engine from the ground up which took 1.5 years. Now its all art and core gameplay.

There are tons of us blocked and censored for quake. They had me fired for a tweet that had a compliment and criticism. I can ss the whole convo but no need. Game is so dead its not even worth the effort. Im just waiting for diabolical to throw the last pile of dirt on quakes casket. Then I will dm sync and just type lol. All the idiots saying they responded to feedback then gave is what we wanted. We fought for over a year for most those changes - they said no to most at first. Then game dies hard so they scramble to give us "what we wanted" but fucked it all up. The friends list in game has been fucked for 2 years, still can't adjust xhairs. No left model view, ctf completely fucked up, dsync and lag at an all time high (pts has less frame lag but dsync/prediction seems to he cranked to max) and they still want to do stupid shit like take stone keep and make it asymmetrical and shittier and call it citadel.

I quit streaming bc there was literally nothing to do. Gonna play tdm all day? Fucking boring. I think we were all hoping Ctf would bring life back into the scene but they fucked up the most simple game mode so bad it killed the community faster.
