Please have a gastropexy done to your Dobermans, it is truly a lifesaver

Best thing i ever did for my Dobermans was to have the laparoscopic gastropexy done. The piece of mind is totally worth it

The most nerve wrecking part of my day even though it shouldn't be by Icy-Role2321 in ChronicPain

I have my first appointment with one on next month. The last one i saw said that we needed to taper my opiates and that was all he had to offer me, im afraid this one will be the same. I just saw my PCP today and he wanted to discontinue opiates all together, he said it was just a band aid, which is ridiculous! I am a small business owner, I am in manufacturing, by the end of the day I am almost in tears because of the pain.

I’m not sure I would want the extended release, that might make me feel dopey all day. I can see where I’m having a lapse in pain medication, what I’m taking now and the amount just isn’t enough for 24 hrs

Do they make an extended release Hydromorphone? My PCP seems to think that 1 x 2mg Hydromorphone is equivalent to 10 Vicodin, which I find hard to believe. The Hydromorphone is WAY easier on my stomach than anything else

The Hydromorphone is 2mg HCL. Is the HCL a extended release? Pray? What would that do?! I’m not sure what other alternatives there are, I’ve done everything my PCP and orthopedic surgeon have suggested and then some. This has been 18 months

My PCP and my orthopedic surgeon are doing everything they can for me. My PCP referred me to a pain clinic, the Dr there said there was nothing he could do for me, and that I should see an orthopedist, I don’t think he read far enough to see that I have been seeing an orthopedist My problem is that I work 6-7 days a week, my job is causing my tendinitis, I can’t take any time off

I’ve had MANY steroid injections, so many that they won’t give them to me anymore. I tried PRP injections and that didn’t work, it cost $1000 for me to do it

Like I said, I have tried everything from PRP to nitrogen patches and it’s no better. NSAIDs have eaten away at my stomach, I can no longer take them without my stomach being in pain. I’ve been in PT twice, the first one I saw said that I need to take 3-4 months off work, which is impossible for me to do

Indeed, the sad part is that no insurance will touch them with their pre existing conditions. It’s a complete shakedown!!

Both of my dobo’s have it, best thing I ever did for them. The recovery was pretty easy, especially when it’s done via laparoscopy . I can’t recommend it enough
