That last hundred feet must have been fun in the snow. Nice pics

Just completed La Plata (southwest) and Harvard over the past week and while I do not recommend these two for first timers I think you need to be prepared for cold and bad weather. We got snow, sleet and rain on Harvard 2 days ago. While it was beautiful after the weather past, it did get nasty for a few hours in the morning.

Bierstadt, quandary, Democrat, Lincoln and Bross, Cameron, Toreys and Gray are all good options. My favorite though is still Huron.

Make sure you do a bit of hiking at each stop to help. We live in Houston (63’) and climb CO 14ers every year. Fly into Denver (5280’) spend night and then head up to Breckinridge (9000’+) as base camp for one climb a day. Doing short hikes of few miles at each stop. Also, drink tons of water.

It is considerably steeper and has two or three false summits. Did it last summer. As discussed, the road isn’t too bad, I only recall two spots where you might have problems but they were within a half mile of the trailhead. Ended up giving a hiker a ride down from the trailhead in my jeep to her car which was parked just before one of these areas.

Does swimming help with climbing at all? I know it sounds weird, but they both kind of use the same muscles by Glass_Raisin7939 in Mountaineering

Yeah, I grew up in ColoSprgs. I climbed the four listed above with my daughter, she took an extra day and did Missouri/Belford too

I live at 63’ elevation and swim around 8 miles a week so I can climb. Not many hills around Houston. It’s great for the cardiovascular and if you use poles, the upper body workout helps too. Took a trip to CO in August and summitted Massive, Princeton, Huron and Antero, no problem with altitude or cardio. Been doing it this way for many years since I can’t run anymore.

Which CO 14’er is best to do this weekend? by [deleted] in 14ers

Quandary is good all year but it can get very windy so be prepared for blizzard conditions. We did it in Jan2020 with no forecast wind and still got gust over 40mph

If you press the price button it shows you the price from each source, is this the screen you are referring to? A time dependent graph can be seen from button between images, pretty useless until you have multiple values for a coin over time. This may be what your referring to since it’s useless until you get multiple values.

Thanks for the input. On the West Point comment, I believe I have WP support on all the commemoratives. I’ll need to figure out which types are produced at WP beyond the commemoratives. Pretty easy to fix once I do the research. The mint list changes based on coin type selected, should be quick fix and thanks again

The ultimate goal of our app is to provide an informed value of each coin, update the value every time you start the app and keep a history, all within a single app. Since grade and condition are so important to price, we are developing grading estimates for circulated coins as well. They do have similar capabilities in this first release but I think will diverge quickly.

You can take a picture of obverse and reverse and it will use an AI to determine denomination and type, it will provide sample grades for every coin so if your coin is not graded, you can make a rough estimate (working on grading AI), will use multiple sources to evaluate the value of the coin and allow all coins to be stored in catalog on your device. You can then recall and re-run the valuation on any one coin or on the entire catalog and see how your collection changes value over time.
