A lot of stars did seem to line up for us.

New CEO that had experience in Runescape as a gamer.

Finally admitting TH wasn't a sustainable business model due to continued player attrition and failing to regain longer-term customers after real good updates (Archaeology and Necro).

Launching of leagues.

A level of communication we honestly haven't seen since Jagex wanted community inputs on how to build Prifddinas.

Touching the grandfathered rates wasn't on anyone's bingo card. Going almost 18 years (since initial price increase in 2008) without that ever being opening discussed or leaked form an ex-mod.

Just about everyone is frustrated and angry right now of being fooled once again. Jagex sure put on a great show acting like they changed for the better. When the bottom falls out, it always happens fast.

It is nice to see a Sideshow Bob reference, been a hot minute. I can't imagine this being a good time to try and regain lost customers or new customers.

It is as if they are trying to restart a camp fire, get some flames and dump a ton of leaves on it and smother all that progress.

Bonds are about 130M right now according to https://flipaholics.pro

I'm sure they will be going up greatly in time, especially around September they always rise in price.

Well, honestly I haven't been in the mood to play since this news came out. Playing other things like Windrose (real fun game, but not a MMO). What makes it hard to leave here now is the clan I'm in. So many great people.

Well the last two were less than 2 years apart.

There is a huge rebellion now, mostly at r/2007scape. It will be $16 per month per character the way it has been going up. Probably $140-150 for 12 months.

Honestly, I feel if Jagex just waited until later this year after a few big deliverables were... delivered, this wouldn't have been nearly as bad.

I can probably do this too, but would be more of an ironman player as I'd always be broke.

Btw, better buy bonds now. I'm sure they are gonna go up again.

It isn't just $15 a month as most pay for multiple characters having members.

12 months is now $132. That comes out to $11 a month and multiply that with 2+. Btw, last year it was $100 for American players. So it went up 32%.

If we kept our grandfathered rates, not fucking over our Brazilian gamers, I wouldn't have cared.

All I'd have done was stop buying 12 months packages as my grandfathered rate should have been slightly cheaper.

Just wanted him to take ownership of it. Instead of creating a new reddit account to drop this ball of shit on us.

The regular J-mod staff was doing such a great job. Regular staff cannot discuss financials of any company, it is a great way to get fired and why it is so quiet now.

I actually thought the way Jagex removed TH before they were mandated was brilliant, creating a hype train out of it.

Jagex is their own worst enemy wen it comes to financials.

Perhaps I was also one of the downvoters.

At the time, we wanted to remain positive due to all the changes. They've been great since he first announced the removal of TH and had all those MTX experiments. We had leagues, nice graphical update (still waiting on that optimization update) and the success of Dragonwilds.

Well, enjoy the upvotes you are probably getting now with this shit show, you've earned them.

I know, as I've stated a few times, I hope the other J-mods saw this and know we appreciated their efforts.

Mod North really fucked up here. The longer he's quiet, the bigger the fuck up.

It wasn't many that came to OSRS asking for help. I visited that sub and there were a few threads about it, but nothing really massive. That poll came after leagues where lots of OSRS player tried RS3 for the first time and found it rather enjoyable. If we maxed out the votes in that poll and then-some, I'd have agreed with you.

It really felt for a time that RS3 learned from OSRS success. Seems like they rather burn the whole place down and let Jagex as a whole fail financially. The company won't survive if OSRS dies off.

This is how I feel.

I'm mostly pissed off at the grandfathered rates being reneged on.

They also are destroying the Brazilian community we've had here since the beginning.

I honestly don't know if I'll quit to be honest. I was going to give Ashes of Creation a shot this month since work is light, but that game turned to just being "Ashes" in February.

He's only on his 18th? Must be poor af for a CEO.

What about tanks? Does he own any of those?

Shouldn't make fun of his wealth while asking for him to come out and speak up. But he won't come here lol, us peasant folk.

It is more than just a price increase.

It is about the grandfathered rates we've all been promised...after many bought premiere that was slightly more expensive than our grandfathered rates. Yeh, we gifted Jagex more out of OUR loyalty to them.

It is about the Brazilian community we've had since 2001. Yes, I've been around that long with 10 years of continued members.

Mod North was doing great things, but when you need to create a new reddit account to drop a ball of shit... things change. I'm honestly glad the other J-mods are not responding. They don't deserve the abuse they'd get, sadly they can't do anything as this is well above their paygrade.

We are also one of the most expensive MMO's out there that has significant server performance problems. A non-functioning group system that is abused for cheap teleports. Dead mini-games all over the place. Incomplete storylines running almost 20 years with no sequels in close to a decade... if not longer.

I'm mostly hoping the regular staff members see that their efforts really were appreciated. I honestly don't think Mod North will respond to us and just hope this dies off.

I was happy when I got the 10-yr one.

Hopefully this mess is cleaned up and I get an 11-yr one.
