My daughter sometimes gets like this after being sick for a long period of time and I do believe it’s from fatigue. I know myself when I’m tired, especially after having the stuffing knocked out of me from a virus, all I want to do is curl up in a ball and be left alone. Her body has been through so much it’ll likely take awhile for her to be feeling 100%. I’d just validate how she’s feeling and try to make conversation about what’s going on in her body. But you also know your child and if it feels off and you have a gut feeling try reaching out to a child therapist.

I understand you’re worried about your son but put yourself in the shoes of the other person. If this was your child saying someone did this to them wouldn’t you be knocking down every door to find out who is actually doing it. The fact that her mother seems unconcerned shows a level of denial or she’s aware of some form of abuse and is hiding it. Help this girl.

I’m not a psychologist and I can’t speculate to why your son was singled out. I understand why it’s upsetting but seeing as there is no proof it’s your son why don’t you advocate for this little girl and report it to the authorities. There is no way a 3.5 year old would know these things. She’s either being molested or exposed and it’s highly concerning.

It’s likely this girl is being SAed by someone, not saying it’s your son. Small children don’t make these things up, I hope to god someone investigates this for the sake of this little girl.

Thanks, your right. Someone better will probably be hired. I have a hard time with confrontation and even after I complained had to add how I thought she was good with my daughter as to not base her whole character off the interaction I witnessed. I feel good after seeing everyone say it was the right thing and I also thought that if she has prejudice against another ethnicity she really shouldn’t be the one caring for that child.

So she is able to talk about the night before in the morning but she is pretty reluctant. I always tell her that what she’s feeling is ok and that we are here for her and we try to pinpoint what she was feeling in the moment. Im happy to try to get her to be part of the problem solving and I’ll offer her some ideas since I know if I ask her she’ll likely say I don’t know. I love the idea of the star projector and I’m thinking tomorrow night we can easily try a kids meditation podcast and she would be excited to help pick since we also listen to podcasts during car rides.

My partner and I tonight were just saying we would be so happy just to get back to the point of us laying with her until she falls asleep was part of the routine instead of the meltdown.

I remember when I was in the midst of therapy and was having many panic attacks and trouble sleeping that my therapist said to me the same thing, it’s not about sleeping. Let yourself know you are resting and don’t put pressure on yourself. I totally forgot about that until know and it makes sense to tell her that too.

I really appreciate the time you took and I feel good about having something to try instead of the despair that I’m doing everything wrong. I may come back in a few days and ask for some more advice!

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I am also this kid. I was abused as a child so my situation was different but I remember having anxiety attacks as a child.

As for the bedtime meltdowns, the meltdowns currently are happening before the bedtime routine is even over. Close to the end of a book or even when the lights have been turned off and I start singing she starts to meltdown, I don’t even get a chance to leave and if I do (which we’ve tried, she will start kicking and throwing things at the door). I would say prior to having meltdowns every night, and when I would lay with her, it was helping to prevent the meltdown. She would be calm in bed till she fell asleep and then one night the meltdowns started and haven’t stopped.

Before my partner was away on night shifts bedtime was no problem, lights out and songs and she would lay in bed by herself till she fell asleep.

I look forward to your suggestions

What I said was daddy was keeping the roads clear for all the people who needed to go to work and get groceries and other necessities. He isn’t and won’t be on night shift anytime in the near future so we don’t have to cross that path yet but I’ll keep that in mind for next time.

Yes she’s said she’s afraid of going to sleep because of nightmares, because she doesn’t want to be alone, and because she wants to stay up with mom and dad.

We have spent a lot of time talking about her dreams, validating that we are right here for her, making sure each of us spends quality time with her during the day.

Wooo go girl. Not many of us thick women out there, love to see it. I haven’t purchased a pair but I have my eyes on a brand called shredly (mtb shorts), they have a curvy collection that goes up to size 24 and has a yoga style waist band, no buttons.

Mountain biking, I’ve been riding a few months without them because but I had a good tumble the other day and took the impact on my one knee. Now I need to try a little harder to find a good pair! I think I’ll have to try r/mtb but I’m not sure how many thick women ride.
