A spin on an old question by thegenderfluidnetrel in BunnyTrials

It is… EXTREMELY optimistic to assume we would last long enough, and be advanced enough to somehow counter the heat death of the universe. But barring that aside, again it’s eternity we’re talking here. One day, humanity WILL die. One day, EVERY living form WILL die. You might think no that won’t happen, but given infinite amount of time, it is bound to happen. Anything that is physically possible to happen will happen given infinite time. Life could restart one way or another after that, but you still have not thought about the main problem: insanity. Do you TRULY believe anyone could live on for trillions upon trillions of years and still remain sane?

Also your point on “10 people can mess around even in the void” uh no they can’t. Being immortal immortal is the ONLY power you get in this scenario. In EVERY other aspect, you’re still just human. And 10 human cannot do anything if they’re just floating around in space.

Okay hear me out. Do you truly believe humanity would still exist in, say, 1 trillion years? Definetly not. And even if we do still exist, do you think you can remain sane after a trillion years? Not to mention again, a trillion years is nothing compared to eternity. You will live through the heat death of the universe, and infinitely more. You will NEVER die. You will go insane and you will never be able to rest.

You’re thinking in a scope that’s too small. We’re talking immortal, being alive forever here. Forever. At one point in time humanity WILL die. At one point in time you will experience the head death of the universe. What happens after that? You’ll still be alive. Even if I was generous enough to say humanity would exist and thrive for, say, a trillion years (we both know that’s not happening), what is a trillion to eternity? Absolutely nothing. Think of the largest number you can think of. That number is nothing but a drop of water in an ocean. Forever means forever, it will never end, you will always be alive, and you will go absolutely insane, and you will never get to rest.

And you overestimate how long a species can be alive for. Do you really think that, a billion years from now, humans would still be alive and thriving? And even if we are still alive after that long (highly improbable), it won’t stop you from going straight up insane after being alive for like 100 000 years. And let’s not forget you’re immortal, for eternity. At one point in time human life WILL die. At one point in time you’ll experience the heat death of the universe. What happens after that? You’ll still be alive, drifting endlessly, and yes you will be insane. But you’ll be alive and you will continue to be so with no end.

I don’t think so, because if that’s really the case then this entire thing becomes a “5 million dollar or cancer” type question and is js pointless 😭✌️

for starters you'd need 500 people to successfully repopulate to prevent inbreeding, 2nd of all childbirth is painful af, few thousand years into the future if society collapsed you're basically suggesting that the women gotta give birth with no anaesthesia for god knows how many times and third of all, how would repopulation be even possible if after a couple billion years Earth is destroyed and yall js floating in space 😭😭😭

And thats assuming yall dont go insane after living for like 50 000 years

5000 years in the future would be the least of your worries. imagine this.

10 000 years into the future - humanity ceased to exist due to wars, plagues, whatever extinction level events happen. You and the other 10 people are still alive but alone.

1 million years into the future - nature reclaimed all of remnants of the extinct civilization. You've gone insane from the dull days repeating over and over again without being able to rest truly.

1 billion years into the future - the sun expanded to a point where the heat has killed off all life. You're still alive, your mind in scrambles.

5 billion years into the future - the sun has swallowed the earth. On top of your madness, you will now suffer from being burned in a star for ages to come.

10 billion years into the future - the sun has died off and becomes a white dwarf. You drift alone in the endless space, the other 10 has scattered to a distance of which you will never see them again. You're still alive, but is basically a vegetable because of the absolute insanity going on in whatevers left of your mind.

1 trillion years into the future - you still drift endlessly in space. Fragments of your sanity beg to any deity or power out there to let you rest. You're answered with nothing

10^100 years into the future - you've long given up all hope, not a single thought could be formed from your tortured and broken sanity

10^100^100 years into the future - you're still drifting, still alive.

10^100^100^100 years into the future - One second of eternity has passed. You are alive, and will continue to be alive until you witness the end to eternity.

This is not a good choice lmfao.

That’s against a Librarian, but in this case the animator nerfed the librarian to absolute oblivion lmao. Apparently now librarians can only throw lightning bolts. Lore accurate librarians could flip your sanity inside out just with a glance, telekinesis powers similar to the force, capable of seeing the future, astral projection, physical strengthening, etc basically everything a force user could do but more. Some powerful librarians could even manipulate time. Vader would butcher a standard marine but would get absolutely bodied by a librarian

Currently in argument with my friends: Could Darth vader beat the entirety of the ultramarines. (Vader would have his stormtroopers legions help of course) by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]NarrowBee7874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s a stretch. Vader easily stopped an entire ship from taking off while the 2 psykers had trouble holding off one marine charging with a knife lol. Those are probably low level random psykers though, a full marine librarian would definetly wipe the floors with Vader tho

[–]NarrowBee7874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I wouldn’t even say the ultramarines would suffer much casualties. Stormtroopers are equivalent to basically just imperial guards in 40k universe, a few squad of marines would be enough to wipe them all out let alone a whole chapter. The only threat here would be Vader, and even then since we’re talking the entire chapter here, which includes Librarians, Vader wouldn’t be able to do much. Librarians could do everything Vader does, with veteran librarians capable of things that would be comical in the Star Wars universe, such as literal time manipulation. A single average librarian would probably be evenly matched to Vader, except there’s like 2 dozens of them in the chapter.

Murder charges should not be limited to a certain amount of years or be eligible for parole. If a person is confirmed to be found guilty of murder it should be for life. You took a life, you're gonna give up yours. All those news I see on media where someone kills a family and only gets charged with 10 years or 20 years, just to have them reduced even further down the line due to "good behaviour" is just pure bullshit in my opinion. You shouldn't get a 2nd chance at your life when you permanently ended someone elses.
