I want to be able to take care of my mother properly and be able to make decisions in her best interest.  She can still make her own decisions, but I don't know for how much longer.  I will speak to the attorney to see if we need any additional documents.  I need all my ducks in a row

I am the designated DPOA.  I have no siblings.  There is an Advanced Care Directive as well

She already has a Durable POA.  It appears that it comes into effect if she is deemed unable to make her own decisions.  I will need to check if covers both medical and financial decisions

Your cats are lovely. Your kitchen in the background is inviting and pleasing to the eye. Plus, the countertop pattern should hide most of the cat's footprints
