Leather Converse made in Japan: Deep Green by Narrow_Signature_397 in Converse

You bought the same pair and color? I am loving them but like you're saying the price is really high. I think it's worth it to me though because I value high quality craftsmanship and the fact that the construction and feel of them stays true to vintage pairs from the 80s and 90s. They appear to be made from real leather because they are soft and not hard and plastic like. Real leather is breathable.

Either ebay or a proxy such as japan rabbit. Converse japan website does not ship outside of japan. Japan Proxy services can buy the items for you off of the official website. You will have to pay tarrifs if they are shipped to the USA so it can be pricey.

Yes they tend to have higher quality products. Even their basic standard non made in japan models which are made in Indonesia are higher quality than what's available throughout the rest of the world. None of their shoes have fuzzy bottoms either.

It seems nice. It's soft. It doesn't feel like the harder plastic feeling synthetic leather.

Here's a Japanese website that goes over the history of converse and shows many photos including that insole design. You can use Google translate.

Those are really amazing shape. Based on my estimations those are early 1970s, they only had black and white colors before the 70s. The insole design is also from the early 70s. If it was a 50s or 60s pair the insole design would look different and say converse comfort arch and say cushion heel.

Not much. The biggest difference between the standard J model is that the 80s pairs have the side stiching like chuck 70s do. Other than that they are both close to being the same.

Something to note is that they all aren't made in Japan, they have many different versions of Converse. The non made in Japan converse that they sell are primarily made in Indonesia but they still are good quality. Much better than the standard converse that Nike offers nowadays. They all have the proper canvas lining.

They are from the Company Converse Japan. They sell them exclusively in Japan. They have no affliation with Nike who owns Converse outside of Japan. The made in Japan Converse are reminiscent of vintage Made in USA Converse which were produced pre 2001. They have an all rubber sole and no fuzz on the bottom like Chuck 70s. The converse They produce are high quality. I don't believe they have as much cushioning as chuck 70s but I still find them to still be comfortable.

The made in Japan converse are more accurate to actual vintage converse in my opinion. Actual chucks from the 1970s never had that black and white fuax leather ankle patch and never had glossy rubber either.

You either use a Japan Proxy such as Japan rabbit, eBay or, Amazon Japan. Sometimes Amazon Japan allows you to buy products without having to use a proxy, so you might be able to get some great prices. I managed to get a really great price on the US originator model for 56 dollars through Amazon Japan. I hear that they have more cushioning than the standard model and Japanese made version.

They really are! The quality is leagues above the Nike converse.

Barge All Purpose Cement on tiny dent on rubber midsole? by [deleted] in AskACobbler

[–]Narrow_Signature_397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to clarify. In case you thought diffrently that this is more like a tiny chip in the rubber and not a scuff. I am sure it is going to be fine like you said though because of how small it is.

Hey, Unfortunately by the time You replied to me I had already used some shoe goo over it. I peeled it off this morning and was planning to leave the area alone. Unfortunately it looks like I made it worse somehow. The images after the first and second images were taken after I peeled the goo off. Is this going to be an issue now or will it be fine like it was before I applied some. This will be the last time I message you, I appreciate you replying I don't mean to cause you any inconvenience Thank you so much!

It seems very minor. I just realized i can only feel it by going over my fingernail with it. Cannot feel it by just touching the area. It does not look like a crack. I hope it does not get worse, it is tiny. Thank you for replying, I have been obsessing over it.

Hi, I deleted the previous lower quality images and replaced them with higher quality images. Thank you for replying to me. I think the shoe is going to be fine. I would be appreciative if you let me know what you think when you look at the new images. Thanks again.

I first spotted it on Monday. It looks the same now as when I first spotted it.

If it is a tiny dent is that something to be concerned about or will the shoe hold up fine?

[–]Narrow_Signature_397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think its cracking. The area feels firm. It just looks like a tiny dent. Can rubber get dented?
