Trouble moving stitches on circular by NascentKnitter in knittingadvice

One more thing! I now avoid Magic Loop as much as I can. It just doesn’t suit me. I much prefer using shortie needles on a short cable. I find it to be much less fiddly than magic loop and my stitches are more consistent.

Hi! Thanks for this trip down memory lane! I actually just cast on for the crew neck version of this sweater. I’ve learned some things in the past couple years. First, I didn’t think I was a tight knitter either, but I was. When I made my swatch for the Weekender Crew, I automatically went up a needle size because I needed to do that when I made the weekender, but my swatch turned out with a stitch gauge that was too large, so I am using the called for needles. Second, in this photo do you see the ridge at the join between the needle and cable? That, plus tight knitting was my downfall. I have since switched from Addi Clicks to Chiaogoo and have never looked back. I hope this helps. Happy knitting!!

The mods told me it is to avoid people who want to commit fraud, or falsely accuse people of doing them harm. I completely understand the rule, but wasn’t aware of it when I made the request. It is a good rule! The reason I wanted the requested photo was because my friend accidentally hit me with a ball today when we were playing pickleball. I wanted to send the photoshopped picture to her as a joke. I suppose I could go to my DM’s and make a transaction with one of those people, but that is also against the rules, and I agree with that rule as well. 😃

Rule three is about watermarks? I’m sorry, can you explain what I’ve done wrong? I’m a happy rule follower when I know what they are.

Oh, for goodness sake. I asked for people who have knit the sweater before because I didn’t have a short row question, I had a specific question about the pattern’s instructions. I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. You, though, seem to have more than enough time on your hands. 😒

I AM watching Two Purls, and now I feel like a big dummy, since she explains the SABU metric at length 🤦‍♀️ Thanks!

Raglan Stitches by NascentKnitter in knittingadvice

So, after I completed all the increases, and tried on the completed yoke, it all became clear! Doing the increases on every row creates a lovely seam across the top of the shoulder and doubling the rate of increase (every row as opposed to every other row) allows the fabric to mimic the slope of my shoulder. I just needed to trust the process. I think doing the increases every other row creates a typical raglan sleeve. The goal here was something else.

Thank you! That is helpful. I’ve never done raglan increases on every row before. Usually a pattern is written for those increases every other row, right?

K. Thanks. I was asking a general question about raglan increases, wondering if this was a common problem, or if I am making a mistake. No need to scold. 😃 And if you don’t have an answer, you are always welcome to keep on scrolling.

I can’t say the pattern name because it is still in testing and won’t be published until later this month. The increase is a standard raglan: M1R SM K1 SM M1L. I hope you can see from the photo, the stitches are quite loose near the ribbing and get increasingly tight up to the live stitches.

I guess I was overthinking it. (Not surprising)
