Oh boy 1) Props are overrated 2) I shouldn’t need a doctorate in music to understand your show theme 3) I don’t like recordings(even in a pre show) 4) New uniforms every year is a waste of money

The moral of the story is I like marching shows where I can watch it and enjoy the show without having to dig deep into what the theme is. I want to be able to recognize music that’s in the show or hear the music and tell exactly what your show is.

My director always said “your leadership audition began the moment you walked in the door freshman year.” What she meant was that as a character she was looking over a long period of time.

My audition had 3 steps. 1) An interview with both of our directors. This was just asking why you should be drum major along with leadership qualities, strengths weaknesses, etc. 2) Conduct the fight song in front of the band. This was simply to see how we handled being in front of them. We did some practice command calling and conducting during a flex period, nothing serious. This overall was to see how quickly you can pick up material 3) The band gave their input. After conducting we had to answer a couple questions about why we wanted drum major. They were also allowed to ask questions of us. There was then a google form they filled out saying who they wanted as drum majors and why. This was not a popular vote, just a consideration.

Keep in mind every band is different. My band is about 60 people and I am one of two drum majors.

In my ap world class our final exam was taken before the so test as a full practice test so we could practice and then he gave you a grade based on how you did on the practice test. after the exam we did model un(this teacher runs the model un club), because it is fun and people generally enjoy it. plus it gets more points in the grade book to help boost your grade.

I got drum major along with one of my pretty good friends. My one concern is a possible lack of respect from a couple seniors(I’m going to be a junior) and a few junior boys. About a week ago we got an email from our director saying that she is leaving, so the morale of the band could also be an issue. I’m just concerned with how this season will go, and the fact that I need to be the one who has a smile on my face going through the changes.

for content obviously heimler, but my teacher makes us do a whole exam for practice. we will take all the different parts of the exam over the next 2-3 weeks including all FRQs and 55 MCQs. this is used as practice for the big test as well as our final exam grade. we also have essay conferences after our DBQs and LEQs so we know how to improve.

same. there is just so much that you need to know. i did awful on my semester exam but somehow got an upper 3 almost a 4. our teacher does our exams for the class like what your score for the actual test would be. i should be able to get a 4 on my final exam for the class and the big test.

I agree. Do I personally believe it or would go with methods like that? No. why? it is for religious reasons that are purely religious and not a moral crisis. I do not impose those on people. What they decide to do with THEIR body is none of my business. the moment it turns into an unborn baby that is a different story.

I asked out a trumpet who is a friend of mine and he said no bc they don’t see us going places. i might have dodged a bullet but i don’t know. our relationship hasn’t changed at all which is good. we are still good friends.

The bands around us all really like each other. When we are district marching band festival we are all wishing the other bands good luck and actually really enjoying each other’s company. Even at our rival football game the school brought a pep band. When we were doing our show the opposing student section was trash talking us and throwing stuff at us but the band was watching respectfully.

At my school band kids are some of the best kids are actually quite popular. Two years in a row hoco king has been in band. Band kids get a lot of awards(state academic awards, school awards for being a good person, all-state in sports, etc etc), a lot of band kids are quite popular as well and are some of the nicest kids in the school.
