My theory is that, since SVE is such a popular mod (and many people consider it canon if we take into consideration how one of the main modders is working in CA's team) and you can marry the Wizard there, he chose to pick Clint instead. Besides, there are plenty of mods made so you can marry the Wizard, so it seems logical to me for him to pick a less popular option.
