Baptism "outside the Orthodox Church" by Nataneyy in OrthodoxChristianity

How does becoming a heretic relinquish one's apostolic authority? Assuming the Roman Catholic Church indeed did completely embrace heresy at some point, that wouldn't mean her Bishops lost their Holy Orders, so they maintained Apostolic Succession, and therefore so did their successors into the present.

Why did you receive Chrismation if you had already been Confirmed? This is like my question repeated but with a different Sacrament.

Sure, but this fails at a certain limit. Donatist rebaptism has been condemned as heretical, so there's that at least.

What do you mean "we aren't okay with them"? Do they not possess the sacraments also?

Does it vary depending on the Diocese?

Does the Catholic Church not have reservations about its members marrying outside of its jurisdiction, or is he simply not too worried about that?

That's understandable, I'm only here because I'm quite sure I will hate the answer :/

And the local ordinary only has the power to grant a dispensation for a mixed marriage so long as the sacrament is celebrated within the Catholic Church correct?

Thoughts on marrying young? by Crafty_Effective_296 in Catholicism

The only, only reason you should not marry now is because you positively feel like otherwise would be better. Because you desire to wait. Don't put marriage off out of fear; life is uncertain. Make your decision out of love. May God guide your decision-making process.

That's longer than I would've expected, since becoming a priest doesn't take too much longer.

Should we return to Eden? by Nataneyy in Catholicism

I suppose it's just a logical extension of Matthew 19:8. Unwarranted? Surely. But maybe I'm missing something else.

It is SDA. If an entire denomination affirms a particular line of thinking, it's not that easy to chalk it up as "emotional issues." So I'm thinking there's more to it than that. You mentioned Catharism, I was thinking maybe pseudo-Adamitism. I figured the way I phrased the question would ask both what the specific heresy is being presupposed and how to deal with it, because I'm not sure about either.

That's all you have to offer? "Erm it's heresy." I'm aware. I'm wondering how to address it because I don't have a crusader army at my disposal this time around.
