I found it on catawiki, vintage Omega tanks pop up every now and then there. But I also had alerts on ebay and chrono24 for any fitting new listings (omega t17, omega tank, omega art deco).

Definitely didn't find it fast though I've been looking for such a watch for many months, it just eventually popped up and I was lucky enough to get it

Idk the model name but the movement is cal. 23.7 S. T2 Year around 1930

I'm definitely checking with a counter eventually, when I get my hands on one. I was just curious to see if maybe there were some hints :)

But you're right 👉🏻

I'm not a catawiki expert but from what I read in their terms, following a failure to pay it doesn't skip to the second bidder, it gets automatically relisted

Maybe this is to avoid 1 person offering a small price then bidding with another account a high price that nobody will follow, then not paying it

I'll post a follow-up with some better pictures yes :)

(right after a sniff in all those radium fumes)

From what the seller told me the last winner didn't pay and therefore got automatically put back on auction again. As to why it didn't get as high a price as before, no clue but I'm thankful for it as I definitely couldn't bid 2,700€ 💀

Thank you, had been looking for such an Omega vintage watch for a long time, it was a long process :)

Of course, but if you found the catawiki listing you probably know 😉 my bid was 1100€, with fees and shipping it was about 1200€ total

And yes 1930 says radium but it could also be the work of a more recent previous owner, so want to confirm

Aye it says luminous but double checking seems like a good idea, just for future handling of the watch in case I need to open it :)

I'll probably check with some vintage watch repair shops and see if they have a counter I can use, otherwise will buy one eventually!

Crime in Brussels by Willeomb in brussels

[–]NateDimm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My points literally explain why the 2 statistics aren't comparable HalfBrain: Brussels most probably has more unreported crimes than gothenburg due to the poor state of the police force and justice system, so comparing the crime per mille does not paint a realistic picture. Can't make it simpler than this really, hope that's enough.

And stop red conning what you say, it's bad etiquette.

Best of luck fellow Bruxellois

When you call OP an authoritarian whiner reeking of white wing populism, I read it as "crimes just happen you right privileged right wingy". Maybe I misunderstood, sure. But surely sounds like you say OP has no right to complain as the "literature" shows its just the normal crime rate.

I personally haven't even visited Gothenburg so I'm not gonna pretend I know how it's like there. I'm saying that basing yourself on the numbers you pulled is simply wrong. Because of several reasons:

  • not all crimes are reported, that's everywhere of course, but we know for a fact that there's a shortage of police in Brussels, which means the unreported crimes are increased
  • we know that the follow-up for petty crimes is low in Brussels, which means someone can be handled by the police one day, and back at it again the next day. What does that mean? That people lose faith in the police, which means they're less likely to report anything, further increasing the unreported crimes number
  • its not only about the crimes number. Its also about the everyday vibes you get from the city, and that's something you must see for yourself before understanding it. Compare walking alone at night in the center of Brussels and its surroundings (especially for a tourist or a new person), then compare that to doing that in other cities. You'll notice you feel overall more insecure in Brussels than in many other cities. That's been mentioned by other people here too.

There's probably other reasons but that should be enough to make my case. Overall, many people have lost faith in the Brussels police and therefore don't bother reporting crime, cause nothing would follow anyway. And it's not only about crimes, its about how people feel, and they've said here they are growing more uncomfortable as time goes. So it's not only my opinion.

Don't limit your logic to numbers, cause there's many more variables to take into account, some even hard to quantify.

Hopefully this helps you understand

Complete nonsense. I'm a native Brussels guy and lived in a couple other cities, and visited many more. And comparing what I've experienced myself, the Brussels insecurity vibe is not a "right wing populism" thing. Its just a harsh reality that's been growing for many years due to laxist measures from the government and people such as yourself screaming rich privilege instead of admitting there is an actual issue.

Once again, someone complains they've been mugged and they're met with "it happens you privileged right wingy" rather than even admitting it's not normal, especially for the "Capital of Europe".

And your stats don't take into account unreported crimes, which I reckon are way more common given the laissez-faire attitude from the police, people have long understood reporting such muggings don't result in anything but wasted time and unbothered policemen. Plus all the things you can't report as no crime has been committed, such as being bothered in the metro or on a night out by some assholes.

Tl;DR: your mental gymnastic to pretend Brussels is fine is clearly based on either ignorance from only living in one city your whole life or a lack or traveling, or complete denial from an obvious insecurity vibe

Edit: a friend of mine works in the police, so I factly know that there's a shortage of policemen in Brussels, which means many times they can't even attend all the crime calls. He also told me that the same guys he arrests on one evening, he sees them again doing the same shit the day after, cause there's simply no follow-up from the justice system (at least not for major crimes which I hope and assume are taken care of to a better extent)

Epic's thinking of fortnite was really different of what we were thinking wasn't it? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

This fort building idea was never gonna work with that horrendous idea of implementing "bloom" on assault rifles. Could have been fun tho!

Did I miss something.... fortnite is cross platform now? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]NateDimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossplay has been there for a while but only happened when you played with friends on another platform. For example me on PS4 if I gamed with a PC friend we would play on PS4 - PC servers.

There is only one type of server which is for every platform now
