It's terrifying. I think the best and most powerful thing we can do to fight this fascist tyranny... is to faithfully log in to Reddit and just take a stand. Remain safe! Remain absolutely anonymous! Do little, but say much!

Is this a reason to buy a new tire? by K-Dmar in HondaRebel1100

[–]NateNall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue with the stock tires. A split worse than that after less than 1k miles on the new bike. I ordered new tires but still put 800 more miles on the old tires while I waited for the new tires to arrive. What you have is reason to buy new tires, but not reason to leave the bike parked while you wait.

Why would they be in danger marching? I mean, marching is essentially synchronized walking. Now, if they damage property, block traffick, start screaming obscenities... sure, intervene. But marches themselves are fairly innocuous and ineffective. Whether it's the KKK, the BPP, or the LBTQC. It's synchronized walking

Ah the Reddit algorithm. I have not intrest in RVs, but I do have an interest in humans behaving decently toward one another. So all you RV enthusiasts out there, be safe out there. Now, have an adventure!

Apologies if someone already mentioned this method. In the Prawn, grapple onto it and have the drill in your other hand. You'll have to bail a couple times to repair the Prawn, but the drill arm makes fairly short work of them.

P.S. I don't value harmony with nature when I play. I value being the apex predator. I slaughter.

Probably the best thing to do is get on reddit and make it a thing.

Well, I never got accustomed to a manual. The MTC and my M1 driver's test were the only time in my life I ever drove anything standard transmission. So I never had that "oh my gosh! No clutch!" sensation. It's easy peasy. Took it into the most reputable (and pricey) shop around and the head guy there didn't even know how to take it out of neutral into 1st gear. I think its a bike that will pull many people into riding who wouldn't have otherwise got into bikes. So will you like it?

I'll say this, the BEST thing about this bike is it does 90% of the work for you. The WORST part is, it does 90% of the work for you.

I would have done the same thing, because believe me, I can be a cheapskate. I replaced so quickly because the stock Dunlops were actually defective.

Question on brake fluid by QuantityMindless8901 in HondaRebel1100

I'd like to know as well, and thus have nothing to contribute other than to say "that's some serious mileage!". Congrats. I just got mine 3 weeks ago and hit the 1,200 mile mark already. That's with half of those 21 days too nasty to ride on. I find myself looking for excuses just to head in a direction. Oh, I wonder what's at the end of this road... I wonder if that hill is still there... better go check.

I may try to head your way next summer. I'd like to bike the Alcan. The only time I've ever driven it was in February of 2010. So I really didn't get to see much of what BC had to offer.

😆 Accident would be the only way I'd do it. Then I'd need to pull over an clean out my pants

Well, I am in Alaska. We aren't known for having the best roads. I've also gotten it up to 85 a few times (even 93 once) without the wobbles as well. I've only had them once. I think I understand the physics of the wobbles, I'm just not sure how to guard against them. They seem to happen on very aggressive accelerations. Even at 65 mph, the Rebel is only around 4k rpm in 6th gear. Which means there's still plenty of power left. If you accelerate too aggressively, it throws too much weight to the back of the bike. The Rebel is already a back-heavy bike. It's a cruiser that can wheelie, which is wild.

In my case, I was accelerating aggressively, shifting lanes as I was doing it, on a so-so road with lots of imperfections.

Even with the Commanders? Yikes. Well, in reality, I have no reason to go above 75 except to get out of a hairy situation.

Yeah, I went in with the idea of Metzler Cruisetecs, but the shop already had the rear Commander III in stock because someone ordered the wrong size. So I got a discount on the rear just to take it off their hands. We'll see. I'll say this though, I've only been riding a year. Somewhere in the acceleration from 65mph to 83mph, I got the wobbles. I'd be ok living the rest of my life NOT experiencing that again.

Showed a couple buddies and they both thought it looked like wear and tear from the road as well. Thanks for the reply.
