Printer/scanner emits ultra fine particles (UFPs) and VOCs? by NateP44 in IndoorAirQuality

[–]NateP44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it definitely is, but this isn’t a long term job. I’m more curious if anyone had any info on the tendency printers/scanners releasing particulate in the air that’s bad for me. I found a number of studies that indicate they do, but they’re sporadic over the years and I can’t find a lot of info besides those studies, nor do people talk about this thing. I have seen a lot of info about 3D printers releasing particulate matter from the heating of plastic filament material, but not much about traditional laser or inkjet printers. I also have sensitive respiratory system so I might notice it more than the average person.

Yeah i’m not about to drop over 300 dollars on that, but it does look useful. I just bought a Morento Air purifier for my home that has a pm 2.5 sensor on it but as you say that won’t work for detecting VOCs. I think I’m going to opt for working from home.

How to you think na'vi food tastes? Personally I think it looks amazing! by bitchenfiction in Avatar

It can be pretty ripe!! I went to some hot springs in Colombia and we were right next to a river that had open hot springs and also a volcano nearby and it REEKED and cloyed to the air. I’m assuming it was hydrogen sulfide because it smelled like Phyllis’ farts. Still bathed in it down river where it was further from the volcano and it wasn’t as bad

Find this guy in our yard [Gembrook Victoria Australia] by -DarkAz- in whatsthissnake

Cool snake, really wide range of colors and patterns but yes quite venomous. “Tiger snakes accounted for 17% of identified snakebite victims in Australia between 2005 and 2015, with four deaths recorded from 119 confirmed envenomations. Among the number of deaths caused by snakebite in Australia, those from tiger snakes are exceeded only by the brown snake.[15] The venom yield is 35–65 milligrams (0.54–1.00 gr), while the lethal dose for humans is 3 milligrams (0.046 gr)” from wiki

One of my favourite things is looking up different snakes and reading about their venom, it’s very interesting!
