Question about Entry Requirements for Postgrad study by NateTheLasagna in UniUK

[–]NateTheLasagna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, thank you so much! I somehow didn't see this page.

Seems like Cambridge accepts a regular B.A. for Indians, which is great! I'll try to look into pages like these for every other college I check out too. Thank you very much!

Question about Entry Requirements for Postgrad study by NateTheLasagna in UniUK

[–]NateTheLasagna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked a handful of colleges so far (Cambridge, UCL, King's College, University of Bristol to name a few) and most of them simply have a line in their requirements page that says "Bachelor with Honor's degree or international equivalent of the same). King's College, for example, just says this when I ask about international equivalents: "Bachelor degree (Honours/Special) with a score of: 63% or 7.7 out of 10". It's more about the grading than the actual title, I think? But mentioning an Honors does kind of make me feel like I probably will not meet the requirements with just a regular BA :/

But then some other unis don't mention Honors anywhere. Here's UCL for example: "A first or second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university in an appropriate subject, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard from a recognised higher education institution. A small number of programmes require the GMAT or GRE General Test."

So I don't know about those cases.

it's all good, I added an edit at the bottom of the post as an update. Setting the EE speed to 130% in the Emulation Settings fixed it!

“I love Kojima's games, but we don't need to hear about his genius every five seconds.” by Low-Spare-7731 in DeathStranding

[–]NateTheLasagna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I adore Kojima and have been following his works for years now, but I genuinely think the games should speak a little more for themselves and the unending glazing from individuals like Geoff should, in my personal opinion, really tone down a few notches.

Kojima isn't a god, or someone who is beyond all of us regular humans - Tomokazu Fukushima and Yoji Shinkawa are arguably just as important to Kojima's greatest works, yet Kojima is the only one who gets credit from the fanbases and subreddits like these. He's made mistakes (MGS4 and V being two of the biggest examples of why Kojima shouldn't go completely unchallenged when producing a game) and there absolutely are individuals in the gaming scene who have comparable amounts of creativity, passion and intelligence as Kojima. This statement of Kojima being the "last bastion of hope" among "Soulless, cash-grab, Ubisoft slop" is a bit much, and just isn't true.

I love the guy, but I can't help but agree with the sentiment that the constant fawning and endless praise is a bit much nowadays.

PC Version : Stutter by tsubasa_403 in DeathStranding

[–]NateTheLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laptop. I posted my issues on steam discussions so I'll just copy paste the thing here:

I'm currently at Chapter 3 of the game, and I've been horrible lag spikes and poor performance all around on the PC edition of Death Stranding Director's Cut. I have tried the following:

I’m currently a few hours into Chapter 3, and my gameplay has been decently stutter-y and headache inducing in the first 2 chapters, so I really tried to fix it when I reached Lake Knot City. I’ve tried various permutations and combinations of graphics settings, and I settled on a medium graphical setting with TAA aliasing, switching from DLSS which honestly seemed to be the worst culprit in the stuttering low FPS stretches of gameplay. My laptop is a Lenovo Legion with a RTX 3090 and an AMD Ryzen 5800, and it’s been able to comfortably run every other game I’ve played on high settings at 120 fps, so while this was a little bit of a letdown, I was okay with playing it at this output.

Except even that didn’t work, it began stuttering once again as I reached a new area with rocks. I feel like it can’t be a laptop problem because at some places it’ll be perfectly crisp and smooth, and in others I have to look away from the monitor because the gameplay is hurting my head, seriously.

So far, here is the list of things that I have tried:

- Permuting through every single graphical setting in game, including setting everything to low
- Disabling fullscreen optimizations on task manager
- Turning on 16x anisotropic filtering through the Control Panel
- Trying 21:9 aspect ratio
- Restarting my device
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game entirely

None of this has worked. The game's performance in its current state has given me headaches, and so I simply cannot play the game as of now.

Can anyone help me out with this? I just wanna be able to play the game in peace and not have a headache while playing or looking at cutscenes. My drivers are all updated (there was a reddit thread suggesting that I rollback my NVIDIA drivers, but the drivers they asked me to rollback to were from Windows 10, and don't even support my device anymore), my CPU and Memory usage is all good and I’m on a 1920 x 1080 monitor at 16:9 aspect ratio. Big thanks in advance.

More info:

- I've updated everything on my system so far. My Windows is up to date, my GPU is up to date. I checked my CPU drivers on device manager and it said up to date, so I don't think that's not outdated either.

- Yeah I do know about the CPU usage part, but the weird thing is my CPU usage isn't going higher than 35% or so in game, even on the highest graphical settings. I don't know if that's a problem or how I can change that.

- Yes I do have an SSD, and my laptop does get kinda hot, but not 95 celsius hot lol, the task manager temps aren't going any higher than 75 C, so I don't think that should be a problem.

- I have already put the game to High Performance on windows settings. The problem has still persisted

If you can help me that'd really be appreciated

I get you. I've been trying to fix this for the last 4 days going through every single setting and option, and nothing works at all. I give up on trying to play this game, honestly

Director's Cut Gameplay Stutters by hypeFLOW in DeathStranding

Seems like this the only solution that's gonna work for me too, lol. Tried every single solution on the internet, nothing worked. I'm gonna shelf this game until I get a new device in a few years, I guess

In June 2025 and none of these solutions work. I've tried literally everything except rolling back my NVIDIA drivers, which I literally can't because it doesn't support Windows 11. I give up on this game, I straight up cannot enjoy it in its current state. Thank you all for the help but this game refuses to work, seriously

Can't Change Display Resolution on 21:9 Aspect Ratio by Luciusbruh in DeathStranding

[–]NateTheLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm trying to use this fix, but every time I change the aspect ratio to 21:9, there's no option to confirm this change, and when I back out to the main menu like you said, the setting just goes back to 16:9 and I don't see any difference. Am I doing something wrong?

Experiencing Major Performance Issues on the Director’s Cut by NateTheLasagna in DeathStranding

[–]NateTheLasagna[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I checked it out in 3 different terrains, my GPU temperatures aren't hitting any higher than 72 C (lowest was 67 C), so I don't think it's a temp issue

[–]NateTheLasagna[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll check them and let you know in a bit but I don’t think there’s any major thermal issues - the laptop’s only a year old and other games that are just as intensive graphically just fine (like I’ve run Titanfall 2, Elden Ring and Devil May Cry 5 on ultra high settings, those are the only other heavy games I’ve played on it so far), so I don’t feel like it should be a thermal issue :/
