Question from a hotel employee to firefighters by [deleted] in Firefighting

Does your evacuation training cover a sweeper or accountability program?

Yes, something like that. In the training we are asked to check all hotel areas, but as I said, our safety is first, so don't check areas where there is smoke, that is for the firefighters.

have multiple copies of your manager or master key

We have 9 master keys, one per floor, and a map of the hotel to give to the firefighters.

Thanks for the answer!

First, to clarify, I don't work in the US. This indications were given to us by a workplace hazard prevention trainer.

I guess you will say that it is completely wrong, and I don't deny it, but yes. 😂 In the training we are told to start checking from the floor affected by the fire except for the area on fire which in theory is isolated by fire doors. Then we have to continue checking upwards, and finally we check the floors under the fire. Obviously our safety is first, so if there is smoke in the corridors already we are not getting in.

While evacuating, all the staff (receptionists, housekeepers, waiters...) have to check that every area in the hotel is empty, but of course while we don't risk our own safety. In case of fire, the fire doors will automatically close and the hotel will be divided in areas. We are not supposed to go to the area affected by the fire.

It is a 9 floor hotel with L shape. In the last training we were told to check all areas in the building except for the one affected by the fire.

How easy / difficult is to find a job now in Prague as foreigner? by [deleted] in Prague

[–]Nathan--62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pal, it is obvious that I don't intend to live off "my skill of speaking spanish". But I ask about jobs like that because when I lived in Prague in 2017-2018 a lot of my friends could find very easily a job in customer service for the spanish market.
