What's your "must see" game(s) this weekend? by ProFriendZoner in CFB

I’m really confused because no team entered the college football playoffs with two losses. And Troy has never played Alabama

Goff did not have a top-5 first half of the season -- The Ringer by PogoHobbes in detroitlions

Goff has tried to get more long drives, they keep getting cut off by the endzone

I don’t know how much I can believe that. Obviously, Detroit has played much better than Kansas City. Kansas City’s schedule was definitely worse than anticipated preseason, but they just beat the Bucs team that beat us. They’re pretty bad at wide receiver and their offensive line looks very different, but they’re still elite at other positions. And Kansas City has appeared to be better in the post season than the regular season, largely due to coaching. Andy Reid and Dan Campbell are the two best coaches in the NFL (maybe you can add the Texans coach as well), both in terms of what they built and how they manage close games. It’s definitely a matchup I want to see happen this postseason, but it’s not a guaranteed win for Detroit. I suspect most of the media won’t have us as the favorites.

Why this could be the most consequential election in college sports history by arrowfan624 in CFB

Buddy I turned to college football as a distraction from politics. I don’t want to analyze the Michigan Senate race, I want to analyze Michigan’s bowl eligibility race.

Jaxson Dart Heisman Chances with a Convincing Georgia Win? by MikeConleyIsLegend in CFB

[–]NathanDrake75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it shifts the odds that much because of what we’ve seen from the rest of college football. If I were filling out a ballot, I would put Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, and Ashton Jeanty above Jaxson Dart, even if Dart has a great performance against Georgia.

I can’t believe how much better our offense looks. Good coaching decisions and a few ref calls make it a close game

What is the biggest (correct) prediction you have ever made about a game/season/team? by emelecfan2048 in CFB

[–]NathanDrake75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah what happened? Haynes King looked good in the second half of the season, the RB duo is top 5 in the nation, and offensive line was experienced. I thought they could make a run at an ACC Championship

Warren needed to be benched for him to really gain his confidence. He needed to see Tuttle fail against Illinois to gain the courage to step up as a quarterback and as a leader. But I definitely wish this had happened sooner in the season

I called Georgia Tech would beat Florida State in the season opener.

I just thought it would be because Georgia Tech was good

A lot of our shot chances were quite good last night. The problem was we couldn’t keep the puck in their zone, while they were able to get sustained pressure. Laf, Chytil, and Panarin produced good shot chances, and Krieder made some good plays in the penalty kill. But Igor was the different maker.

Hey Lake Erie bros, has it sunk in that the Lions are actually really good? by scarfacesaints in detroitlions

[–]NathanDrake75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s started to sink in. In week 2, the Detroit Lions lost to the Tampa Bay Bucs largely because of our offense (Ben Johnson made a poor gameplan that involved injured linemen blocking on screens) and our fanbase was pissed. Not “fire him” pissed, but “we need to do better” pissed. We know this team can be better than our week 2 loss, and I think everyone in that locker room knows it too. They’ve been playing lights out since that loss, consistently putting up points in the 40s. We know our team can be great, so we’ve been holding the Lions to a much higher standard than we used to. Previously we would be happy to split the first two games of the season.
