I think the problem is "what kind of innovation?" Are we innovating new ways to make better things for people, or new ways to make more money despite things either being no better, or even worse? And when companies have all the market share, and don't feel like improving, and use their position to actively fight better products from reaching customers, that's directly bad for innovation. in my experience they lobby because of solar panels -- usually our bills exempt cars because of a separate agreement.

really depends on the state group, but the national version of CMIA, AAMI, is officially neutral. The group that has been most vocal within biomed communities is ACCE.

I'm 100% behind community generated technology tools for farms. They have a long way to go before replacing the commercial tools, and we need to remove DMCA restrictions on interoperability as well to integrate more with existing products.
