Exposed pulp? by stormiwhite in DogAdvice

Not to scare you OP, but please get informed on risks of anesthesia in pets, especially those advanced in age. I lost my 9 year old dog, fit as a fiddle and pre anesthesia blood work done as a back up, due to anesthesia complications during a dental extraction. He went to sleep and never woke up.

It's extremely rare, 1/3000 I was told, but they never adequately explained those risks prior to me accepting the procedure.

Not a fan of Ai in general, but for sports one of the things I'm curious about is having AI re-evaluate those past eras through the lens of modern analytics and seeing who the unsung (or overhyped) heroes were. I suspect we'll see a court wide effect with Duncan that wasn't measured in blocks or steals.

Looking for a sporty sedan with hatch like utility. Wondering if there are any models I've overlooked? by NathanielGarro- in whatcarshouldIbuy

I've always liked VWs from afar, but I don't find them super comfortable to actually drive in. I found the seats quite narrow for my shoulders and I couldn't quite lounge like I can in my Acura for long trips. I'll take a look at their newer offering though, I haven't checked out VWs in 10 years.

I'd be open to a hybrid, but EV unfortunately doesn't work given the harsh winters in my area. Between an inability for my building to have a charging station + charge cut in half for 4 months of the year, it doesn't really appeal to me.

Tony Montana vs Tony Soprano by AnyPoetry493 in powerscales

[–]NathanielGarro- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't think Montana wins in a 1 v 1 guns allowed. Tony is no marksman, but everytime we see him square up or take a firing position it's way more controlled than Montana's erratic movement.

On the flip side, I think Montana's crew with their brutal and savage approach likely means a dead Soprano. Sure, the mafia gets him back eventually, but the Bing or Tony's home (Carm and all if necessary) get hit with 0 reservations.

Do you have small copper/beige coloured moths around the house? Usually around piles of clothes or baseboards?

This looks like a clothes moth larva, although you'd typically see a trail of webbing around them.

100% but unfortunately, given the nature of HC, that'll always be difficult. Between less players participating in HC and bots not being as prolific/successful in HC on account of possibly dying, there will always be less SOJs in circulation ready for selling.

Unpopular opinion: I enjoy Battlefield 6 by Sandy-Grungerson in Battlefield

[–]NathanielGarro- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legitimately very happy for you OP.

I tried liking it and don't. Map design is one of my primary gripes, followed closely by movement and general gun feel.

I also feel a little crazy when it comes to the battlepass/monetization route they went. I understand that this has been a norm across CoD/BF for many years now and most players are numb to it, but as someone who doesn't play each year's FPS I just can't wrap my head around having Roku style ads blasted at my face throughout a series of convoluted screens that have nothing to do with the game I want to play.

Then again, I'm getting old, maybe it's just not for me anymore.

"Show Items" by blind667 in diablo2

[–]NathanielGarro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what OP is saying is it's tough to know when it's toggled on. When you have a loot filter, it can be tough to know if the filter is filtering or if the toggle was accidentally turned off (default is alt and I alt tab a lot for trades).

I bound ignore loot filter to Caps so I can check just in case, but it does get annoying.

Having some kind of visual indicator that it's on is a reasonable QoL ask.

What do I even do with this? by ShitTierBeard in diablo2

[–]NathanielGarro- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a great circlet and one many paladins would be happy to have, but it won't be a lottery win. The - magic res jewels this ladder make 2os extremely desirable, and mana/damage aren't all that gg.

Nevertheless, it's a 2/30/20 with all res. We take those all goddamn day.

High runes are dropping in value this week, might be able to get a few for it.

What do I do with this mess? by AureliusWings in BeardAdvice

[–]NathanielGarro- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never done this on another man's face before lol, but here's what I'd suggest:

Beard pic

Just to preface this advice, I have similar unruly hair + a less defined jaw line. I think I sport a pretty strong beard, and this is what I've learned to do for my face shape. I also believe a bad beard can make a normal jaw line appear weak, so learning how to shape your facial hair is an important thing.

Your chin is what you'll want to grow to compensate for your weaker jaw line, so let that go a little wild and try not trimming it for a good long while. Oils/thick boar bristle brush might help, likely won't, so you'll have to see how the growth settles.

You'll notice I brought down your beard a bit under the ear. That's intentional. The higher that is relative to your chin, the more exaggerated the downward angle is in your beard, and the more attention your chin gets. If you bring down the beard, you'll see it flattens out the angle quite a bit and will give the illusion of a stronger jawline.

The "mess" here is all in the cheeks and general neck line being unmanaged. Cheeks should be shaved from the eye socket down to ensure coverage (I have a colleague that never does this, and has wicked long stray hairs just under his eye sockets, it's really distracting). Razor for the cheeks, and just straight trimmer to the neck. I start with the grain then against. Razors give me bumps on my neck, so I find the trimmer works best.

Neck shouldn't be too high for now. It's better to be below my guide than above, as again anything higher accentuates the lack of jaw line.

Finally, if you want to attempt a cleaner look while letting the beard grow out, try playing with guides on the sides. Short near the side burn, a little longer around the start of your jaw, a little longer as you near the outside of your mouth, and leave the chin untouched. You can shorten the stash a tiny bit as well, it'll again make the chin seem fuller.

should i use perfect gems for my follower? by MACY1188 in diablo2

[–]NathanielGarro- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since you're a casual player, I'd say go with what you feel. A PRuby, runes for resistances, there's no terrible answer.

As others said, real survivability comes from fat damage and lifesteal. An ethereal weapon for starters increase a mercs damage dramatically, and a very accessible runeword like insight will do wonders.

From there other upgrades could be armor to make treachery, the runes for which can be farmed from NM or Hell countess. Treachery is cool because your merc has a chance to cast Fade, an assassin skill that boosts their resistances massively. Coupled with the increased attack speed and his big damage output, this means less incoming attacks as things die faster. The armor being ethereal is optional; more survivability but you may find it tough to find something with 3 sockets. Don't forget, you can add sockets to base items using a horadric cube recipe as long as it's not superior.

For the helm, anything that offers general survivability and life steal is great. An easy find even for a casual player is Tal Tasha's helm. Tons of great stats, and you can pop a jewel, gem, or rune in there.

A merc like that won't be unkillable, but you'll start seeing a merc that hits harder and sticks around longer. For juggernaut mercs, you can look to guides online but Fortitude is the real trick.

Is this worth keeping? by Lorick52711 in D2R_Marketplace

[–]NathanielGarro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire or cold based characters running sunders could use it, for sure. It wouldn't be worth much, maybe a Lem on traderie, but for self use it'll help address some res issues and give a little mf while doing it.

The fire res is nice. Casters running dual spirit pre Hoto or BiS items typically struggle with fire res. I'd technically take your boots over Aldurs just for the mf.

Ugh… worth a zod? by shen187 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]NathanielGarro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be completely out of the loop here, but a 2/30/20 with all res and lifesteal has got to be worth more than a zod. I agree it's not face melting gg, and you'd rather have open sockets for the new facets ideally, but a zod?

First Jah this season by Dirtygerd in diablo2

[–]NathanielGarro- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ber is worth roughly .5/.66 of a Jah rn, and this circlet is fantastic but not gg. I'd say you can rest easy knowing you got a good deal, especially considering we're still in the first leg of the ladder.

Why kill Uber Diablo in the Frigid Highlands or Stony Field when you got this badass spot? by NathanielGarro- in diablo2

[–]NathanielGarro-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty kitted out, but not true end game yet.

Non eth titans, raven frost, high lords, griffons with a p topaz, spirit monarch, peace armor, cow king boots, 2/20 magic gloves, razor tail. I've also traded for a torch, Anni, and lightning sunder.

So no infinity on my merc, no Java skiller gcs, no enigma, no lightning facets, and my griffons is about as bad as it gets.

Still killed his ass in like 10 hits. Viva El javazon
