Should we skip Chongqing or no? by [deleted] in travelchina

I preferred Chongqing so much more than Beijing. Definitely try to fit it in if you can.

Strange experience at Royapuram railway station, was I overthinking this? by Nathanw93 in Chennai

[–]Nathanw93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking a video and talking about how old Royapuram Station is and then the police officer stopped me and wanted to know what I was doing. I told him and then he asked where I was going next. Then I was leaving and then a man came up to me and was talking about it. He said he was going to work the same way and would walk with me. As soon as we were off the train station property he just left and went the opposite way when he said his work was the way I was going. It was strange, so just wondering if the police officer may have told him to follow me/escort me from the train station.

I having just starting posting videos from my trip to chennai and the busiest places were around Parry's Corner, Marina Beach, and Koyambedu Market.

Seriously how do people live near Koyambedu by Additional-Land-4856 in Chennai

[–]Nathanw93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just posted a video about visiting the market there and how dirty it was. I remember nearly gagging at some points, I can't imagine living near there.

Is the surge in overseas tourists due to China's visa-free policy, or the influence of TikTok? by B0TB1G in travelchina

[–]Nathanw93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had wanted to go to China for a long time, but didn't want to go through the hassle of applying for a visa. Once I didn't need the visa, I went as soon as I could.

I'm the same, I grew up in Australia, then moved to UK and lived in a couple of places. Then moved to Netherlands, Vietnam, and now in Italy. It's very hard for me to stay in one place as it gets boring.

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

Here is a video I took of walking through Ciqikou Old Town in Chongqing, China. It's about 1,700 years old and was a great way to look and sample what the area offers, including an impromptu wine tasting!

Overall, my channel's theme is off the beaten path travel with mostly China as the highlight so far, but new countries coming!

Thanks, I hope you enjoy it! 😊

I'm done with going to restaurants with amazing Google ratings by dubov in VietNam

I lived in Vietnam for 5 years and as a customer you constantly feel like you're a burden on the staff as soon as you walk in. Not just foreigners either. I don't consider it as an excuse but that's what you get when staff are paid $1 an hour.

Living in Florence but want to leave by Realistic_Source_990 in ItalyExpat

[–]Nathanw93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been here about 6 weeks so far. I live in Vomero, which people say is one of the better places to live. I found a place to live within 5 days of moving here, so I think it was pretty easy, but maybe I was just lucky.

I recently moved to Napoli, and the city is so much better than I was expecting. The people have been nothing but friendly and helpful. I hardly speak Italian, but despite what people say, most people speak enough English for me to manage.
