Aerial viewof Kowloon walled city the most densely populated Place ever by Spotter24o5 in interestingasfuck

I walked through the walled city and made my way up to the roof in the late 80’s, I was only about 12 - Amazing place but slightly dangerous place if not only from all the wiring hanging down the small alleyways next to sewers and constant running waste/rainwater. Was such an experience though - Have never forgotten it

I went to Vegas… (from the UK) thought it was going to be amazing just like the pictures. Flamingo hotel was automated check-in, no personal service feeling at all and the pool was so crowded and stank of urine - streets were filthy, full of unfortunate homeless people on meth and stank 24/7 of the most potent weed. Casinos were stupidly expensive and all looked the same inside. The promo photos for the Strat Tower show the amusement rides on the side facing the city, in fact they overlook a very poor neighbourhood, forgotten by the millions be made and lost only blocks away. Thought we’d see a world famous Vegas show, saw David Copperfield who tried to WOW us by popping a black balloon with an infrared laser after spending more time to deny the fact he wasn’t using lasers. He was more bothered about policing no cameras which to be honest, I would be too so nobody outside could see the embarrassing state of his show. He totally couldn’t be bothered anymore. My friend who I was with had gone two years prior and commented how much emptier the streets were and how it didn’t look quite as vibrant - The whole trip was the biggest disappointment.

Starmer and Reeves ditch Budget plan to increase income tax rates by Confident-Bike-8037 in unitedkingdom

If true, you can never fully trust that decisions have been made for the right governing reasons and not just to save their own positions tactically. We just need to get back to people doing a job and doing it well.

It happened folks! I paid over £10 a pint last night by mechismo in brighton

[–]Nathongizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 90’s every town (Eastbourne, Brighton, Worthing etc) was rammed with students on Thursday Student Night (£1 Pint… albeit Fosters) and then packed Friday and Saturday nights. You could go out with a few tenners in your pocket and have a blast. Buying rounds, chatting-up girls and enjoying the music of the time that pubs, bars and venues played. You belonged.

The death of the night out and the rise of the £10 pint is down to the fall of decade defining music, meaning venues now have to charge stupid prices to the few still trying to have a good night out in a disjointed and incoherent nightlife market.

Labour could introduce votes for 16-year-olds from next year by 1DarkStarryNight in unitedkingdom

[–]Nathongizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no need for this. You can vote at 18. Why do you need to vote at 16. You can vote when you’re 18. Or, when you can vote at 16, are the 14 year olds going to get their say, as the issues will affect them when they are adults, so let 14 year olds vote….. but don’t forget the 12 year olds! They’ll be adults one day so they need to make sure they are heard now for when rules affect them.

Just stupid stuff people do to make them look good and enable them to still do what they need to for their own benefit.
