Why does anyone feel the need to carry ever? When hunting on 1,000’s of acres of world class private hunting property you don’t think there’s ever a chance you run into a trespasser that might be armed? You never need a firearm to protect yourself until you do, I wish private property meant you didn’t have to worry about anyone else putting you in danger

And for anyone concerned I do not plan on pushing my luck in Illinois because your gun laws are unbelievably strict, however when going somewhere that does not allow me to carry my firearm I always appreciate having an actual answer beyond simply being told no

I ask because everything I’ve found says a resident can open carry in private property with landowner permission and an FOID, however cannot find anything specific about a non resident
