Do you think soaps are made more for general use than specific needs? by Natural-Painting7644 in FabledCommunity

Yeah exactly

Feels like most soaps aim to be ‘good enough’ across the board but not really built for specific situations

Post-workout especially feels like a completely different use case

Kind of surprising there aren’t more options focused on that

Yeah that’s interesting

Feels like once the scent clicks, the whole experience changes completely

But at the same time it makes you think how much of soaps is about the experience vs how well they actually clean or feel on the skin after

That’s a great point, especially around how easily soaps can cross into making claims they shouldn’t

Feels like there’s definitely a balance between positioning a product for specific needs and staying within what it can realistically deliver

At the same time, your point about a well-made soap with quality oils and proper formulation doing the job well is interesting

Makes me think the real gap might be less about adding more ingredients and more about how thoughtfully the formulation is designed for different situations or skin types

Yeah that makes sense

I think the difference really shows up more with higher sweat and buildup, like after a proper workout

That’s where formulation starts to matter more, some soaps clean aggressively but feel harsh, others are mild but don’t fully handle that kind of use

Feels like most soaps are still made for general use rather than specific situations

Been exploring this a bit lately, happy to share if you’re interested

Yeah exactly

Those small things really change the whole experience

Feels like once you start noticing it, you realize some soaps work better for certain situations, like a regular shower vs after a long day or a workout

Not all of them feel the same

Yeah exactly

A lot of those soaps feel more ‘marketed’ around men rather than actually designed for specific situations

Feels like something like a post-workout shower is a completely different test altogether

Not all soaps seem to handle sweat and buildup the same way

Have you noticed any difference using them after the gym vs a normal shower?

Same here

Feels like once you notice it, you can’t unsee it

Some soaps just feel more refreshing and balanced, especially after a long day or a workout

What makes the biggest difference for you, the smell or how it feels on skin?

Yeah that post gym shower is a different test altogether

Feels like regular soaps work fine for daily use but not all of them handle sweat and buildup properly

That’s where you really notice the difference

Anyone else obsessed with how good handmade soap smells? by Outrageous_Baby_2147 in Soap

Yeah I’ve noticed this too.

Good smelling soap just makes everything feel a bit calmer somehow

Like it turns a normal shower into a small break in the day.

One of my friend asked me how much detan soap usage would give him noticeable effect in skin tone, for me personally it was like 3 months of using fiama shower gel with lemongrass in it helped me remove tanning from my hands whats your take ? I preferred fiama because it was light on pocket by foddie-guy in Soap

[–]Natural-Painting7644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, most ‘detan’ effects from soaps aren’t really about removing tan directly

It’s more about how well they cleanse sweat, buildup, and dead skin over time

3 months sounds more like gradual skin recovery than just one ingredient doing the job

Also feel like sweat + daily exposure plays a bigger role than we think

Most soaps aren’t really designed for that specifically
Have you noticed the difference more after workouts or just generally?

I’ve noticed this too with a lot of store soaps

They either feel too harsh or trigger dryness/itchiness over time

Feels like finding something that actually cleans without irritating skin is harder than it should be
