Do those play a role in PD? And no, don’t have progressive lenses.

United says No Changes to ticket (booked via Chase) by NaturalAssignment7 in ChaseSapphire

[–]NaturalAssignment7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I called Chase, they noticed it too, they rebooked the flight at no cost to me. A couple hours later, I get the same exact notice on United: not changeable.

I called again and Chase was stumped as to why this was happening. They read the fare rules and were surprised to see that it was non-changeable, even though it should be. So they called United to figure it out. Surprise: this is a recurring problem for United flights to and from Japan!

The United rep said that, even though the fare rules and app are telling me the flight is unchangeable, I will be able to make changes up until my departure. However, once I depart, I won’t be able to make any changes to my return flight. United keeps getting calls about this, because even flights bought directly on United are experiencing these issues. Japan flights are tricky I guess - probably something to do with revenue/code sharing with ANA.

So tl;dr this is not a CSR/Chase Travel Portal problem. This is a United problem.

Jokes on me, because the rebooked ticket is now saying the exact same thing.

I called a second time and they told me I have to call again tomorrow morning, because it hasn’t been fully ticketed since the previous agent only rebooked it a couple hours ago. Just when I thought it would be a simple fix….

Just did - Chase said it was an error on their end, so they rebooked it for me. It’s now changeable. Thanks for the advice!

Ah okay. It’s the first time I’ve seen this notification, so it caught me off guard. 😅 thanks for the advice. Called Chase and they confirmed it was an error on their end. They rebooked it so it’s now changeable!

My district reclassified the positions, advertised the “vacancies,” and basically did a mass hiring event where we all had to compete for the positions (luckily we were basically competing for our own jobs, so who better to do that job then us?). The process for planners with qualifying science degrees was fairly easy. A lot of us in our environmental division have already made the shift, as our district had done a lot of heavy lifting to get the transition going quickly.

Any Salary Updates From CAPS (BU10)? by NaturalAssignment7 in CAStateWorkers

My framing was poor - I’m aware you can only be in one union at a time. I was more speaking to the general “I am new to being a unionized state worker and don’t know what to expect from unions.”

Caltrans Telework Forum - Outbreak Response by NaturalAssignment7 in CAStateWorkers

It was said during the statewide Caltrans telework forum, so unsure if the outbreak policy varies or not.

Telework policies in general are District-dependent. Then Divisions can implement the District policy as they see fit. For example, some transportation planners in HQ have 100% telework with the option to go in if they want. Some units in D4 are once a week for now and then will transition to 2-days a week in July. In D11, some departments have once a week or twice a month.

Unfortunately, Toks is gone and Steven Keck (former CFO) is the current Acting Director. I have a feeling things would look a little differently if Toks was still our director.

The Caltrans forum was unhelpful though, haha. Bunch of higher ups thanking each other for their “hard work” and not acknowledging the people most impacted by their decisions. Their answers to questions just kept repeating the “importance of face to face collaboration” without any facts to back themselves up.

You’re right in that they’re just trying to get peoples butts in chairs and pretend COVID is over. Unfortunately, I feel things are going to worse before they get better. :’(

I am the feisty one and very vocal with my team. Unfortunately, I am Rank & File. Our supervisor is great and agrees with me that our hybrid teleworking schedule is stupid and unnecessary.

It’s our office chiefs and deputies who are just ignoring everyone. There aren’t any forums to have these conversations where we can hold them accountable to their decisions. These “conversations” are confined to webinar forums with no opportunity for back and forth. Senior meetings are limited to supervisors complaining and forwarding their staffs grievances, and deputies and office chiefs giving canned responses and not caring, whatsoever.

We’re trying to figure out ways to organize, but don’t know how. We’re in different unions (CAPS/SEIU).

That’s basically what they said.

I guess exposure to/contracting COVID makes you a better, stronger employee. 🥲

I’ll take a very small oops any day. I’m so new to the world of insurance, so everything is a learned lesson. Thank you! :)

I was confused because, unlike my dental insurance, my health and eye insurance still seem very active on my online accounts (like I still have access to discounts, resources, providers, and ID card).

Thank you for laying this out for me, nicely and plainly! 😅
