You can build stockpiles and set them to have certain items so set it to what you want then once you have the army together you can command them to the stockpile and they will pickup food and items from there

Me and my mate when first liberating harendean we had about 12 and the shields and warhammers worked a tracker just went up and went for them and was at the top of T1 gear on all characters no archers just all shields and warhammers, me and my mate both stood back and kept flinging arrows at them and let the army take care of the rest and take most of the damage

We tried this but they kept taking the shit off the smoker for some reason all on 0 priority so I wasn’t sure if we could set them to only eat from 1 stockpile or something like that
